Speaking of mixing of remedies...

I found an old bottle of Humphery's homeopathic veternary medicine for sale on
e bay. He apparently wrote some books in the 1850s and his medicines were sold
in Sears in 1897. The particular bottle was for simple catarrh and running
nose for horses and had Phytolacca, mercury and Kali bich in it.

I also looked up adulterated aspirin and early in the twentieth century..they
would sometimes put morphine or opium in products and I'm wondering if that
would have affected the people with the Spanish Flu if they thought they were
taking pure aspirin...not that I don't realize that aspirin in and of itself
could have alone been the culprit.

Carol, do you have any of his books? As a pet owner who uses homeopathy for pets I'm always interested in the old guys. :)

Vicki :-)

So can someone answer the question...what if there was heroin in
aspirin....what effect would that have had on the flu..or the two together? I
just read where someone said that heroin and aspirin were listed as
ingredients on a tin from the 1950s. I've looked on google.
