Hello!

I writing to ask about the remedy Cratagus Oxyacantha for Heart
problems... In Robin Murphy's book, He does list a lot of information,
but does not tell which potentcy this is BEST used in. Can anyone give
me some insight on this? I'm wondering if even a mother tincture might
work... All's I have it in is a 30C, which is pretty high... if it
works best in low X potentcy. Just wondering what your experience has
been.

Thanks so much!

Hello,

My experience has been that carefully considering individual sensitivity,
and using liquid posology (exclusively) has allowed me to use any potency
(primarily LM's) in varying dilutions as appropriate to the individual
case.

Posology must be individualized.
What works best with one person of low sensitivity and highly developed
pathology would not necessarily be the best for another person of high
sensitivity and medium pathology.

Persons writing of "best" potency are speaking from whatever number of
experiences they've had with the remedy, and in terms of their own
particular practice, and their own particular clientele.

Also, it is important to remember that much of what is written (especially
on smaller remedies) is the rewriting of relatively few original sources. If
those original sources were practicing based on 4th Organon, then all the
derivative work is based in Hahnemann's thoughts many years prior to his
writing of his last edition, the 6th.

You might find it interesting to read up on "Hahnemann's Advanced Methods"
http://www.simillimum.com/Thelittlelibr ... s/HAM.html
which could give some insights on posology -and browse the rest of the
valuable in-depth homeopathic writings (especially case-management section)
here:
http://www.simillimum.com/Thelittlelibrary.html

A goodly number of those using/recommending very low potency may be doing so
out of a lack of knowledge of Hahnemann's 5th & 6th editions of Organon &
the "liquid posology" which allows us to "speed the cure"
http://www.simillimum.com/Thelittlelibr ... /HAM5.html
in 1/2 or 1/4 (or less) of the time which might be needed otherwise.

It also bears thought in this regard that tincture fails that part of
Hahnemann's homeopathy in which the potentization of the medicinal substance
develops and/or makes accessible for our use the means of affecting "the
spirit-like dynamis" (VF) in a manner inclusive of the
spirit/mind/emotion/body holism which the non-potentized substance is far
less capable of (as one can easily discern by comparing homeopathic MM with
herbal MM.)

Thanks Dave! I am wondering about this sensitivity, or developed pathology as this person was on the Phen-fen for over 15 years, and they are wondering if this is what has caused the symptoms.... just walking gets the heart to feeling raced, and not enough air to lungs. VERY out of breath. The symptoms do seem MUCH worse in the last month, although this has gone on for quite a while. Over 6 years ago, this person was doing light arobics, and felt heart was going to literally & violently pound out of chest. It took over 45 minutes for it to settle down. Now, it doesn't take much
to pound, and shortness of breath to occur.

If you have any other remedy ideas or considerations, I'd be grateful.

Thanks again.

Hi Ruby,

I haven't really followed your posting on that person.
If you've taken a full case and would like feedback, please either repost or
send by private email, a synopsis of the case.
Certainly Crat. has that symptom, but I'm sure you know that it's important
in homeopathy to select remedies based on a careful casetaking - even if you
do have a very prominent keynote as one symptom.

The rubric CHEST, Palpitation of heart -contains 346 remedies!

One of the benefits of taking a full case and then repertorizing the case,
is that you then have usually several remedies presented as "likely
suspects" .. researching these will often yield one as a pretty good match -
or lead to modifications in the repertorization designed to more accurately
hone in on a good choice.

The type of heart symptom you mention, especially with recent severe
aggravation, seems to call for the utmost care in remedy selection &
posology.

It doesn't sound like a good case for an unexperienced practitioner.
