psorinum dosage

I was taught to give psorinum only in 30c or 200c, at least initially. But I see in Boericke it suggests potency of 200 and higher. I have only given it to one person, years back, that in a 200c single dose, and though the end result was excellent, it also brought on several weeks of troublesome aggravation (of asthma, which was the focus of the prescription).
I would love to hear experiences of people here with it -- what potency and repetition was used, and what was the outcome? (Agg / no agg?) Either on list or privately.
Thanks!
Shannon

I gave it in a 6 C to a child (age 5 or 6) whose mum had bought him to me from the hospital where they wanted to keep him in because his eczema was so bad. I had been treating him for a while . Mum did not want steroids. That day when he came he was freezing cold, hanging onto the radiators and looked dirty and grubby and grey colouring. A few doses of Psorinum 6 and the eczema was gone for good!!

Hi Shannon,
My kitty, Harvey, had horrible military dermatitis for quite some time. Harvey was scratching himself constantly and had bloody scratch trails everywhere on his body. ( I have read that *itching* is one of the most frequent complaints for veterinary visits.) He was being homeopathically prescribed for by a very well known (human) homeopath with no success. The homeopath then suggested we do a Candegabe Algorithm.
I was concerned that results would not be accurate since Harvey was found homeless and I hadn't information to enter regarding age/place of birth, etc. Given name is one of the questions but I didn't know Harvey's original given name, just the name I gave him when he was rescued and came to live with me. One of the questions for the algorithm for animals was what name does the animal know you by.......well, we live with no other humans and he has never heard me addressed by any name. I rather felt he thought my name was *meow", which is how he and all the cats addressed me. Though I addressed them by their names, they would have no way to know mine......so *meow* must be my name.
The algorithm result indicated Harvey required an *animal* family remedy. There was only one remedy result in the entire algorithm list of remedies that was animal and that was psorinum. I had psor in 30C and 200C on hand. Homeopath advised 200C, one dose, dry.
The results were amazing. After all the time with homeopathic consults and remedy suggestions and vet office consults (though no allopathic meds ever administered) ..........one dry dose......all Sx's were quickly gone and never returned. This was 5 years ago. There were no troublesome aggravations following the dose.
I would add that when Harvey first came here, he was very well and quite healthy but his dad (my husband) became ill shortly after and was in serious cancer therapy for several years. Harvey remained well through all the years of his dad's illness but developed milary dermatitis after his dad died. Harvey was always very much my heart kitty and never close to his dad at all. Harvey pretty much ignored his dad's existence. Yet, in the last two days of his dad's life, he could not be budged from his dad's side, even after his dad was gone.

Georgiana, thanks for this!
I am not familiar with that algorithm, but I see there's a log of material about it on-line, so I will be reading up happily.

And a sweet story about your kitty, and great to hear the result of the remedy was so favorable. I will be reading more!

i am using that algorithm now. i have only started in the past few mos. i know people who say it has helped them a lot. so far, in my small practice, i haven't seen a lot of benefit, but it's quite new to me.

Rochelle, that's lovely!
I'm surprised that 6c is still available -- will have to check whether it is in the US. (My memory is that we're no longer allowed to buy (or sell? or use?) nosodes below 30c -- but maybe that's only for some of them; I'll check. This came to my attention some years ago when I tried to get Carc in 6c and couldn't (likewise Lac maternum, but maybe that was for some other reason).

From Boericke,
"Psorinum requires something like 9 days before in manifests its action, and even a single dose may elicit other symptoms lasting for weeks."
Is this generally accurate?

I can't say that has ever been my experience of using Psorinum.

Ditto.
I have seen overnight appetite control in some people when Psorinum has been prescribed.
