hello everyone. i'm away from my repertories and have a person with strep throat. throat is quite a dark reddish purple with general soreness. it's worse in the morning and it's worse on the left side! i recommended Lach but after 12 hrs of 30c it seems to have done nothing, and so i am stumped. she also says there is a big blister of green pus on the left tonsil. not sure if the green pus fits into Lach or not, but anyway does anyone have a runner up remedy recommendation? thanks so much in advance! Rachel

If it's really strep, I'd use the strep nosode -- only warn her not to take it until she gets home, because it will knock her out if it's the right remedy.
Peace,
Dale

From my pre-homeopathy yrs: garlic and Vit A kill strep on contact. she can gargle with garlic water and she can take Vit A capsules and prick them open, then
let the oil coat her throat. Would do these protocols separately—like a few hours apart. she can alternate throughout the day, gargling whenever she feels the need to do so.
The vit A can be taken in large doses over the day without any harm, just make sure it is not synthetic.

interesting. i've used that before but not seen results. in any case she doesn't have it in her possession and can't get it from me. she just has a small kit with the basics at 30c. do you want to say more about using strep nosode? how often do you use that in cases of strep? perhaps we shoudl rename this thread but i'd be very interested in your experience because, like everyone, i see tons of cases of strep.

I don't see that much strep here now, but I've used the nosode in the past for strep skin infections (and the staph nosode for staph ones) and for strep throats. I use it 200c and above.
My own experience, once when I had a horribly sore throat that appeared to be strep, was that the nosode made it impossible to stay awake -- I couldn't get into bed soon enough!
In an acute, where a nosode seems the best choice, I routinely warn patients to wait to take it until they can lie down to rest.
Peace,
Dale

Merc Iod Rub will help her a lot. Wonderful for the symptoms you described.
