I think and still think the opposition to homeopathy is economic.
In Hahnemann's day pharmacists were paid on the basis of the amount of medicine they sold, the small homeopathic pills were not economically worth dispensing for the pharmacists of the day.

One of my first 'cured cases' was one of asthma, I was so new and green then I didn't understand the whole money thing, I was just so delighted she was cured. She finally said to me, Maria you don't understand, each of these inhailors (advair, etc) costed me a lot of money, I was on 5 inhailors and a nebulizer, I was in and out of the hospital and saw my doctor frequently, now I no longer have asthma - you have costed them a lot of money in curing me.

One homeopath makes a difference, lot of homeopaths are going to put a big crimp in the economics of the allopathic profession and the pharmacies.
