I recently read up on the adrenal gland since Lach had a profound calming effect on mine.
Important hormones are produced there including DHEA, cortisol, norepinephrine and others.
Having had severe adrenal fatigue years ago, with high cortisol levels,
where I took DHEA as part of the treatment and tons of licorice root extract (which is adrenal calming)
plus likely having high norepinephrine at times of the day causing high heart rate and high blood pressure,
adrenal issues can be constitutional and also due to acute situations like prolonged stress besides any diseases.
Info on Cushings,was included, didn't know it is both a syndrome and a disease, one can have either.
Mostly the disease is said to be caused by a pituitary tumor that causes the adrenal gland to secrete excess cortisol
Syndrome is caused by excess cortisol due to taking steroid drugs long term or due to tumor or other cause.
Your situation of having a tumor on the adrenal gland wasn't mentioned.
From Wikipedia, The word "cushingoid" is a useful way to consider the complications and symptoms of Cushing's.

It nay be helpful to try Lach, in Fibonacci, to see if it helps your adrenal gland reduce cortisol production and reverse diabetes.
Though I've stopped Lach the past 2 weeks, I still show signs of reduced cortisol and norepinephrine based on being much
calmer, sleeping better, not waking up around 6am, a sign of cortisol release and greatly reduced use of Atenolol,
a drug which lowers heart rate and blood pressure due to higher norepinephrine.
Also, the late afternoon queasiness from rapid heart rate, which was alleviated by taking Atenolol seems to have largely subsided for now.
Recent blood pressure testing shows near normal w/o having taken Atenolol, previously would be much higher.
I will resume Lach at a later date to see if it works further after taking a break with other remedies.

SOme comments below..
It depends on the situation. It increases production of cortisol.
If your adrenals are exhausted and short of cortisol due to a lack of nutrietns to produce it (pantothemic acid,. Ascorbic acid and pyridoxine hydrochloride) then licorice can help, but if the adrenals are overproducing cortisol due to extreme stress, and the problem is not lack of adrenal "food" then licorice will make it worse by raisin that stress hormone even more.

Hence the licorice is really an allopathic approach as opposed to a healing one.
This too depends on cortisol level. The higher the cortisol the higher the norepinephrine (adrenaline) spikes will be. Adrenaline is secreted in proportion to the cortisol level, causing increase in BP also in proportion to cortisol level.
Prolonged stress raises that background cortisol level. Cortisol is hehind a lot of responses in the body.
It is often described a confusing way, it is like this:
ALL cases of too-high cortosol are "Cushing's Syndrome"
There are several forms - subdivisons - only one of which is called "Cushings Disease" and that is the one ivolving tumors of the pituitary gland that produce ACTH in excess, which forces the adrenals to release cortisol in excess. It is the comomonest form (70%).
People with "pseudo-Cushings syndrome" have Cushign ssyndrome courtesy of gluciocortisoid drugs as opposed to tumors that produce either Cortisol or ACTH.
Other forms are named according to locatio of the tumor or tumors, such as "Adrenal Cushoigs syndreme" or for widespread disspated tumors there is "Inoperable Cushigns syndrome".
is the catchall for all forms.
this one is pseud-cushings syndreme as no tumors are involed. All others involve tumors.
Always tumor/s - there is no other cause except in pseudo-cushings.
I do not have a tumor on the adrenal gland.

The basic problem is that cortisol is the fright/flight hormone and it switches off EVERY activity that has not got to do with runnoing away from a tiger back to the cave. It ALSO steals protein form anywhere and everywhere, the easiest being the gut lining, stomach lining, and muscles, and converts it to glucose to flood the bloodstrream with glucose to help you ruun from the tiger, plus causes adrenaline release to increase BP so you can run faster. The it switches off all unrelated things - short term memopry - not needed for runnoing so shut down the hippocampus. Cortex ares used for solvig problems - not needed whiel runniong to the cave - so switch that off. Immune system - not needed while running away so switch that off. Not the tie to bur fat jyst sugar so switch off fat burning. Not the tiem to sleep so reverse the effect of melatonin...(Cushies can only sleep easily when melatonin is low, in the morning)
And so it goes.

Problem is there is no tiger and the cortisol is high level and continuous. SO is the glucose it turns your muscles into, and I takea little insulin every three hrs now to put it on my middle as I cannot burn it. I must exercise litte spurts often to remake protein daily, and of course I cannot eat starch or sugar. But the deterioration is constant, and in my case severe as I have had this inoperable rare form of it since 1998 and they give you two years max with inoperable cushings. The reason is that if you cannot dissipate the cortisol made daily, it doubles and trebles and kills fast.
Usual cause of death is heart attack but 50% get cancer. I have had 5 heart attacks and one stroke so far and breast cancer.
The wiki things listed below are manageable by homeopahty and are early symptoms people notice not the worsening longterm effects such as teeth that crumble adn break off when eating lettuce, due to protein loss and no fingerprints or skin integrity to keep out toxins as it is too thin from protein theft, and the gut lining makes tracing paper look thick, and there are very few foods that can be tolerated wthout going through the gut wall with almost no villi left, intense pain for weeks after that if they do. Lungs are no 50% gone, protein stolen, and collapsed, and heart no longer beasts on right side and sop on- every year there are new Cushinbgs gifts to manage. So the protein stealing and brain damage and gut and skin and major organ thinning are hard to overcome - other things are just irrtating like having almost no hair, ulcers, glucose high with a healthy pancreas, hypedrtention, osteoporosois and the rest of the wiki stuff. Those are minor things.

By the way hirsuitism occus only with ACTH cushings it is an ACTH effect. SO you see it in pituitary cushings ans oat tumors in te lungs for example. Tumors that make cortisol directly as I have, and as in adrenal cushings lose all the hair instead.
Skin only makes striae if you do not take enough Vit E. Infectios can be helped with Moducare to help the thymus but once an infection sets in it takes three months to come right. Osteoporosis just needs enough Vit K to prevent.Cataracts prevented by Fish oil and Vit E, ditto glaucoma, and kidney damageAdn so on for the easy things.
I do not have diabetes. My pancreas works fine, but the cortisol turns muslces to sugar 24/7, and you can't just let that go about in the blood vessels unchecked. I no longer have the strength to exercise most of it off (hence I am deteriorating) and have had to start using isulin to keep my pancreas from being overloaded.
If I indulge and eat a high carb meal, my pancreas fixes it just fine. But I eat low carb as I have enough waist already.

My adrenals do not produce cortisol nor do any adrenals of people witih cushings.
The feedback loops prevent it. The problem is tumors - they do not listen to adrenal instructions.

Lach is actually a frequent friend as my thorat is also thin skinned and I just have to walk near Windex someone is using and I start wheezing, choking , my throat in such pain, and feeling nauseous as it goes into my system as if there is no skin there to keep that incredibly toxic butyl cellosolve out. Lach works for that.
I can not do that or any other drug.
Glad Lach helps but it is working on a normal gland not a tumor, it is not the same.

Mine is 135/88 with no drugs, but if I get a surprise it will instantly go to as much as 210/185, or more. This is due to the extreme amount of cortisol in my system which triggers an extreme amount of adrenaline for ANY surprise (good or bad).
So I live my life in ways to avoid surprises and I carry my BP emergency kit to lower it with me. This is the routine:
Immediately take Arnica 1M and go do relaxation yoga for an hour regardless where I am as well, as that brings systolic down 20 points in an hour.
Capsicum tincture (Man that suff is HOT) a teaspoon in a cup of water - very hard to swallow that hot and I LIKE hot spices - but it is mpressive and takes it down more, plus 2 cups of passion fruit hibiscus tea, repeated later plus 6 caps rhodiola, and a lot of sudoku or kakuro to turn the cortisol impetus to run, off and distract the brain which will otherwise esclaate the panic response ... I must force it into this other calming activity or the heart attack/stroke will not be averted esp with teh RBBB added last year.
This will get me down to about 155 systolic by that night and 145 by next morning and 135 (my current normal) a day later.
No point using drugs. No drug can work this well anyway.
Clearly a surprise can and has triggered heart attacks. Those are handled with Arn 1M farily frequent doses till the spasms stop - plus the above regime.
