A friend's daughter has asked me for help with this. I don't know whether she has full-on PCOS, but she says she is not aware of other symptoms from it, other than pain. I haven't asked yet what her menses pattern is.

She said she became aware of the problem last spring, when she had a sudden onset of severe pain, which the doc figured was caused by a cyst rupturing. (I think she said ultrasound showed the cysts? Not sure.) They have her on low-dose estrogen, and are wanting to do surgery, which she is unenthusiastic about. She's made dietary changes, going gluten-free (which reduces pain) and increasing fruits and veggies.

I would love to hear anyone's experiences with treating this?

For years I've been itching to give her Carcinosin, but will now restrain myself until I see whether case taking seems to support it; I am also looking into further suggestions for her, and would love to hear what others' experience has been with treating cystic ovaries.

I have a case of PCOS in a young woman, and from what you describe it does not sound as if your friend's daughter has "full-on" PCOS, the symptoms of which can be quite dramatic. Can someone have a cyst or two without having PCOS?
It's typical to have amenorrhea (in my patient's case, no period unless induced by hormones, which she doesn't tolerate) and hirsuitism, among other symptoms.
After a single dose of Sepia 1M, my patient is finally expressing a lot of suppressed anger (thankfully, her mom and boyfriend are supportive of this!) and her period has come back. Don't know how long it will take to normalize the menses fully. What bothers her primarily is the hirsuitism, which I trust will be the last thing to disappear.

Yes.
I was wondering as PCOS has some pretty serious metabolic issues.
I have no experieicne with cysts in people but in cats they are very serious and painful, usually pus is involved and they respond well to pyrogenium.

Hm, pyrogenium an interesting thought. Irene, I assume this is more of an "acute" prescription for the cats. Would you then follow with constitutional work to prevent recurrence? And does pyrogenium in itself get rid of the cysts, or just help with pain reduction and specific detox in the mean time?

I forgot to ask. She said she has now been put onto low-dose estrogen because of the cysts, so it *sounded* like she had not been before, but I will ask.
