Not really, as the milk is a lesser ingredient, only just enough to liquify.
It is mainly fruit and greens.
Very much so.
Our digestive systems handle the milk in the stomach and the fruit in the intestines.
I have a VERY compromised digestive system from chroinc catabolic illness, but my health has improved greatly since I started adding a gaily smoothie.
I do not know why. There is no scientific reason;
FIt for life is a bpook good for kindlingl The people who wrote it are full of invented nonsense ideas that are completely invalid in the well designed human body. THey clearly did not attend biology class3s in juior school. I bought that book hoping to find somethgni valid or useful, there is nothg. It is all wild suppositio taken to extreme with no foundation in anythig the body actualkly does.
For example they make a big deal out of the fact that protein is digested by acid and fruit is digested by alkalil SO they put them both in a flask, and say, gee whiz, they cancel out.
In the body it does not work that way. Our Creator is no fool. Protein is digested first, in the stomach, with acid. THEN it goes to the small intestine where the acid is neutralized and alkali is used for the harder digestion, which is plants. That is why we hae such a LONG intestine - becasue plants are very involved to digest. (It is also why cats have a short intestine as they do not even have the liver enzymes for plant. Plats are toxic to them. By contrast animals like cows who eat onluy plants, have serveal specisal stomachs to help them handle it AND long intestines.)
It's not theory, we know how the body works (just the writers of fit for life fiction do not)
Sadly any ignoramus can write a book, there is no requirement for expertise. It is up to us, the readers, to look for the qualifications of the author in the subject they are writing about.
I got this disease in 1998 and have tried to fond a way to improve my health by food. It is the first time I have found a way to actually reverse some of the catabolism, with these smoothies.
I do not prescribe.
But I share what I know freely.
Namaste,
Irene
