My cholesterol lowering diet 35 years ago

Before I knew that grains were bad for me I went on this diet after I found
out my cholesterol was 288. Two weeks after the diet my cholesterol went to
222. I had it tested a few years ago and the clinic called me to tell me to
come back to the clinic. I never did.

This is what I ate.

I boiled a whole bag of aduki bean. At the very end I added some hijiki
seaweed and oatmeal and maybe more water to help the oatmeal cook.. Ten more
minutes of cooking or whatever. I froze a lot of it in different containers.
I would plop some on a whole wheat tortilla and wrap in saran wrap and only
eat until my hunger pangs went away through-out the day. In the evening I
would saute a dark green vegetable...kale or spinach...in some ghee. I also
made some oat bran muffins without flour..just eggs and some cinnemon and a
little brown sugar. I ate those also through out the day. After three
days...I was eating about two of the whole wheat wraps...couldn't eat any more
than that. As the weeks went on sometimes I would add some sauted tofu to the
wrap or smear some miso on there. I lost 25 pounds in three months. Every
Friday and or before my menses cycle when sugar desire would peak..I would eat
a piece of cheesecake with chocolate sauce drizzled on it. The great thing
about the diet was that most of the food was pre-prepared so I only had to
cook it every two weeks.

I used the aduki beans so my blood sugar wouldn't be spiking. Hijiki for the
minerals. Protein was the combination of the oat meal and beans..a l part bean
to 1/4 oatmeal. Ghee the only oil. And the oat bran muffins were to lower
cholesterol. I heard that the oat bran would pull the cholesterol out of your
body but I also heard that it would pull a lot of good minerals out of one's
body as well. So I didn't stick with that. The weight loss lasted about a year
after I stopped.

I have this cholasma on my face from when I was pregnant...it got worse over
the years because I never put sunscreen on it...larger...and recently, in the
last six months...two little cholesterol bumps appeared near it. I don't know
if this is a good thing or not. I had them before and after a remedy they
went away. My mother had cholesterol pockets under her eyes. She had
glaucoma...after some remedies...they disappeared. So I must deduce that
remedies can influence cholesterol? At least the kind that comes out on the
surface.
