Angry Young Man

Hi,

I have been trying to solve this problem with this
kitty (Cosmo) for over 4 years. I have tried
allopathic medicine, homeopathic, flower remdies,
herbs, animal communication, etc., but nothing has
worked.
I am at my wits' end, but this kitty's personality
quirks are so distinct that I am CONVINCED there must
be a remedy that can help him, but I (and no one else
who has tried) can seem to figure out what that remedy
is, so I thought I would submit the information to
this group and see what you think.

Cosmo was born in a litter of four in July, 1996, I
kept all the kittens. He was neutered when he was 10
months old. Late 1997, a mysterious limp occurred that
would "travel" from one front paw to the other. The
affected paw would swell slightly and he would chew
and pull on his claws. The vet x-rayed and did tests,
but found nothing. The condiion reminded me of gout,
although the vet dimissed the idea. In April of 1998,
Cosmo suffered urniary blockage and was hospitalized
(struvite crystals).I saw this as the condition
working its way from the external to the internal.
Although the vet insisted that Cosmo would die without
the prescription food (made with crappy ingredients),
I began researching the condition and developed a
regime of homemade food and various supplements which
has kept the condition from reoccuring. Several
homeopathic remedies were tried, but we got the best
results from a herbal mixture called "Tinkle Tonic"
and cranberry extract. No further blockages have
occurred since 1998.Cosmo has been vaccinated only
once in his almost 6 years (we do have rabies and
distemper in the area - abundant wildlife from bears
to coyote).

Now Cosmo has a very distict personality. I always
think of the sterotype of the "angry young man", one
that goes around in life wtih a chip on their
shoulder.
He definitely wants to be the alpha male. He is big
and muscular, with a big thick neck (or no neck as we
sometimes say). He loves attention from his humans, in
fact he demands it from us and any guest who stops by.
He will flop down in the middle of the room so he can
literally be the center of attention. He is intensely
jealous of any attention paid to any other cat. When
we try to pet any other kitty, he will jam himself
between the kitty and us so we must pay attention to
him. When upset, he will deliberately urinate on any
vertical surface, often right in front of us so we can
observe his displeasure. He even "complains" in kitty
language and is extrmely resentful if he is yelled at
(usually a loud "Cosmo, STOP!").Other cats have taken
to living outdoors, even in the worst of weather as
Cosmo will attack them over and over again. He does
not hurt them, just tries to harass them and make
their lives miserable. If you try to put him outside
and he doesn't want to be outside, he will promptly
come right back in through the kitty door in the
basement.
He is particular in his food choices and I add extra
water to the food to insure adequate water intake as
he is rarely observed drinking water. He eats well.
Urination is normal, and within acceptable pH range.
He dislikes cold and damp weather. He prefers to sleep
next to or on a human. He is actualy quite handsome,
well-formed, with thick shiny fur and clear, bright
eyes.
Finding this guy a new home is out of the question. I
am quite certain that no one else would put up with
his behavior. But he is ruining the harmony of the
home and making the other cats miserable. Our animal
communicator says there is no big problem plaguing
him, that he is just an angry young man! Like I stated
before, I am convinced there is a remedy for him, but
I sure can't figure it out!
Any observations or comments?
Dee

Remedies we have tried with Cosmo:
Berberis
Thlaspi
Thuja
Nux vom (but that was to counteract some antibiotic he
was on at the time)
Cham
Puls
Kali c

Keep in mind that these are various remedies tried
over the past four years and the Berberis and Thlaspi
were prescribed when Cosmo was still having urinary
problems. Cosmo was NOT vaccinated when the urinary
problems were manifesting.
I will look carefully at the suggested remedies.
Thank you, Dee
