ticehurst night out

Post by Soroush Ebrahimi »

Hi all,
We have been approached (and gather you have to) to help provide
speakers to attend and argue the position that ‘homeopathy is not
sugaring the pill’ at this pub Table Talk event taking
place www.thebellinticehurst.com The Bell Inn, High Street, Ticehurst,
East Sussex, TN5 7AS which is set for the 13th
This from the organiser….
We start up again in the New Year on Thursday 13th February and the
motion is “ This house believes that Homeopathy is simply sugaring the
pill”. Roger Daltry from The Who is a local to the pub and he will be
there for the evening. His family have benefitted greatly from
Homeopathy and he is a huge supporter. It’s an issue that locally has
resonance with John Morgan, Andrew Skorsky and Tony Edwards all
confirmed already. We have 6 Table Talkers, each are given 2 minutes to
respond to the motion and I host .. but really the Oxford Union would
turn in their grave at the lack or respect we pay to standard debating
protocol … it’s meant to be fun, informative and it’s not Question
Time, the public are very much encourage to get involved. it’s an hour
long and we’re all tucked up in bed by 10.30pm at the latest.
But latest update is:
Confirmed to attend and argue for homeopathy are:
Andrew Sikorski, John Morgan, Su Berry (Director and assessor for the
Alliance of Registered Homeopaths) and Annabel Croft on the ‘for
homeopathy’ side
Confirmed to attend and argue against are:
Simon Singh, Matt Forde (comedian), Anne Atkins commentator and Dr
Sarah Jarvis
From the organiser….
No one gets paid but all guests get £20 travel expenses (or the train
fare if coming from outside London) and we all have dinner together on
the house at 7pm. Or you can drive and we’d reimburse petrol .And we
have a complimentary room and breakfast available if anyone wanted to
bring someone and stay. The rooms are gorgeous, I’d take advantage of
it!
