I am starting to identify a rather nasty acute/chronic (?) problem here. Has anyone else seen it?
It comes on very slowly. Takes days to weeks to develop. I have several clients who have had it for months.
Starts out with exhaustion and anorexia. No appetite for any kind of food. A 13 year old wants lots of water and a 50 year old is drinking a lot of sweetened coffee.
They went for weeks and weeks this way.
Next comes bilious vomiting. < nights. Up and retching mostly dry retching.
Some where in there are days of cold shivering and the feeling they are getting the flu with the back and muscle aching. Next comes the chills and heat alternating. Only one client went into a high fever for one night that broke by morning he woke cold and drenched in sweat.
Pressing headaches as if a balloon was inflated in the head, mostly forehead or over eyes.
Then comes on the sinus sx. Scanty mucus, post nasal discharge and a very deep not quite barking croupy type cough. Fatigue throughout the whole syndrome.
You will only see pieces of this. Gels, Bry, drosera, aconite in the beginning, and baptesia for one client among other remedies have partially worked. Metallic taste in mouth or horrible pappy taste, no food is appealing. Nothing has stopped this in its tracks. Hepar didn't touch the cough, baptesia did bring on some expectoration of small white globs of tenacious mucus from the bronchi in one of the cases that had a history of annual pneumonia.

Your thoughts are appreciated. It as been months and am just recognizing the pattern and starting to realize there is a lot of this out there in my area anyway.

Rochelle, most of the people I have seen with this condition are not interacting with each other, it is not coming off like a parasite at all.

The nausea sx look a lot like nux, which didn't work for them, the headaches, muscle aches, and intermittent fevers go quickly enough with the matching remedies but it is not bolstering the entire economy of the patient, the client just goes into another stage of the condition and will fluctuate between the symptoms. One patient got Diarrhea, the others did not, one had more retching, others more long term nausea, etc.

They are geographically from 5 miles to 100 miles apart in environment.

This is looking to me, like a kind of chronic acute like the cold that moves into chronic and 'hangs fire' to use the old term for this.

(Ps, am telling my clients to rest, rest, rest, not to over do anything, eat light but nourshing foods and to continue the remedy until they are symptom free for a couple of days.

I am in Tokyo so I don't know if this counts for your search for epidemic symptoms. I am reporting a lack of nausea, but full blown respiratory symptoms that heal very slowly. Basically, the acute symptoms gained strength from chronic sympotms. My understanding is that slow healing is giving me an opportunity to heal deeply because I am using a good chronic remedy.

My husband started with a bronchial infection. It lasted for three weeks, he is still coughing but he refuses to take care of it so he is an example of the normal way of healing without remedies. At least he has plenty of energy at age 71. But he is adding a chronic bronchial infection to his load of other chronic problems. I am too tired to nag him.

My immune system was weak from a 24 day watermelon fast. Then I got my husband's cough. I ignored it, and continued with intense physical exercise in cold places. Then I got a fever for two days and began to have lots of mucus in my head. It was a little bloody. A month later I still don't have energy to do heavy housework. Also I have to be very careful to stay warm. I rest but I don't really sleep during the day. I do have to sleep if I overdo physical activity. My cough symptoms appear. The cough is gone otherwise, but I can feel the phlegm in my chest if I am too active. My circulation is down and muscles are weak so I decided I need to walk periodically.
The course of the healing process is interesting. I had a cough and my chest inflammation started first in my sinuses. Then the inflammation went down into my bronchial tubes. Physical healing is following Herrings tendencies. From the lungs going up. So, my cough gets better, but the throat feels worse etc.

I am using my chronic remedy which is mercury. In the past mercury did incredible work to reduce the swelling in my throat glands. The shape of my throat and face actually changed. I started using it after the acute symptoms disappeared. (I use some remedies for the acute problems and they were mildly effective. I am a very poor homeopath for myself.)

Before this brochitus I had a chronic sore throats all the time and 5th chakra emotional problems. I feel like I'm more aware of emotional and physical problems with the mercury. So I am assuming that the Mercury is having some effect. That is, mentally and emotionally, I'm very aware which to me means high energy. But the healing process is very slow.

If I didn't know what I remedy do, I think I would probably just ignore the current tiredness and the slight symptoms. By becoming more active, I would force my body too I adjust to those chronic symptoms. As a result, I would function normally at a lower level of health. Because I have the awareness of what a remedy does and I have the time and energy, I am focusing on using the kind of energy that mercury is giving me. It not a quick cure, but I hope it is a deep one.

It was because of the changes from one condition to another – virtually the same in all that made me think of a parasite which enters the body in one form say into the blood, changes to another form or enters another system of the body e.g. the digestive system , gives off waste products, reproduces etc. Have any of these patients been checked out for this kind of thing?

No, not to my knowledge, I am however finding new cases daily. Lots of people have these complaints, all individualized according to their constitution and chronic sx.

I very seldom look at small remedies for this kind of thing because with so few known rubrics it is so hard or impossible to see if the unknowns match or go off into the wild blue yonder, so to speak.

But here there is this peculiar longterm aspect, and the Australian spider Lat-h is especially known for that. (eg used in very slow developing typhoid fever).
You might give it a glance. It only has 120 rubrics in my Radar 10, which is hardly a drop in the ocean by polycrest standards. But a quick glance shows some alignment:
MIND - INACTIVITY - persistent
HEAD - PAIN - constant, continued - six weeks; for

Thank you for those rubrics and for the thought of the spider remedy.

I will definitely look this over.

Am trying to put together a Genus Epidemicus for these symptoms, which is why I mentioned the diarrhea even though I saw it in only one case, (have spoken to other people who also had that symptoms since then.)

The long term ' exhaustion' like mono or chronic fatigue, as well as the mental 'depression' not quite a case of sadness or depression as in weeping, but low spirits, is prevalent.

so far Gels is working the best with a few cases.

The key is going to be in identifying this one early, the problem is a good 3 weeks old before we even get the hint that the sx that just cleared up were part of a much deeper problem and the case is ongoing.
