Scanty breast milk

Daughter in Law's breast milk diminishes early evening - suggestions to increase it for that feed please. She empties at 4 pm and baby needs more at 6pm - milk is fine for 11pm feed. Am scared to give her an Urtica U because it appears that this remedy can go the opposite way!!
Thanks

have you looked at her nutrition and her stress levels?
my dil lost her milk when she went back to work when baby was about 3 months.
she had a very weak vital force in my opinion and ate like crap.

I'd guess that she's not resting enough and is trying to "get things done" in the way she expected she would before she had the baby. I don't know what remedies help new moms settle down and get content with their new lives, but if there are, I sure could have used one. lol
I would advise her to:
Drink plenty of water.
Nap with the baby. Even if she can't sleep, just lay down and nurse all afternoon and read a book.

Sleep more. No, really. Sleep more - with the baby if possible - and cut out "unnecessary" things from her life. Lots of things can just plain wait until baby is older.
If you personally can help her with meals, errands, or cleaning - or arrange for some of these things to be done, that may bring her relief as well.

She reckons she has not been eating enough and tonight had a lot more to eat. What she eats is very nutritional sound and always has been. Obviously getting enough sleep is a problem. She goes back to work in about 10 days times which she wants to do and also Singaporean policy for expats. She did it with the last child - expressed and gave to the nanny to give in a bottle. She will come home at lunchtime to feed which she also did last time.

I found giving Ricinus Communis 30c 2x day for 2 weeks worked very well for a patient of mine.

Hope that helps :)

She rests as much as she can. I am here to help will the other child when she is not at preschool and when she legts me as she wants to give her a lot of love and attention when she is not with the baby. She has a maid (sounds posh but it seems to be what happens in Singapore) who does everything else. Despite not being at work she appears to be on the phone and laptop a lot to do with work!!

Thanks for that, I have just read about it in Clarke. It is not a remedy I have with in my travel kit but I do know of a homeopathic pharmacy where I have picked up remedies in the past. I might try to see if they have it.

Hi,
There are many remedies for increasing milk quantity like Agnus cas, Asafoetida, Ustilago, Alfalfa etc but here the timing looks important i.e. 4 to 6 pm or onward which is a good symptom of Lycopodium.
You may consider anyone as per symptoms.

It can,,,, seems to depend on potency for that one.
But to increase milk, Lac defloratum has been great, must not be overdone.

Namaste,
Irene
