I have refused several clients in the last week as they informed me
during the initial consult of the amazing amount of nutrients and
herbals and prescription rx' that confused me as to how I could
possibly help them amidst the energetic confusion within their
systems. How do other practitioners deal with this issue? I insist on
full supplement (etc) disclosure.

Also, Does anyone have a connection to a homeopathic pharmacy
(besides Helios) that supplies high quality remedies in lower
potencies, like 3C or odd potencies like 10-15X?

I take on patients on supplements and allopathic medicines from their GP.
When the homeopathic prescription starts working then I send them back to
their Doctor to get cut down on their medication. I have got lots off anti
depressants this way.

Re herbal tinctures and supplements I don't personally believe they
interfere and will even give a herbal tincture as an organ tonic if I feel
it is necessary. My 2 alcoholics I got off the wine did so with the help of
an Avena Sativa + Quercus herbal mixture as well as the relevant
constitutional remedy!!

taking nutritional supplements, in fact, some
homeopaths recommend nutritional supplements in
addition to remedies (taken at a different time of
course). However, we were told that one should not
mix herbal and homeopathic treatments.

Hi Dee,

We actually had lectures on giving Mother Tinctures as organ tonics only I
prefer to use herbal tinctures which have more substance in them as the MT
appear to be 1x. Herbal tinctures are also a lot cheaper to buy!! Melissa
Assilem gave us an excellent lecture on this subject at NWCH.

It's really up to the individual and the homeopath to reach accord on this
kind of thing.

HOWEVER- use of strong supplementation may act "medicinally" changing
symptoms, masking symptoms, making it difficult to take an accurate case or
difficult to observe "pure" action of the remedy in case management.

The same is true for herbs; especially those which may have potent medicinal
effect.

Aside from these observations, there should in my opinion be no major
difficulty with homeopathic treatment of a client who used reasonable
amounts of some supplements or herbs.

The homeopath might need to look at it as if there were allopathic medicine
involved in the case in more extreme situation.

Mixing of herbal and homeopathic treatment is quite common in India, where
it is also common for "Q" tinctures to be used homeopathically.

Treating a client who used herbs to palliate or control certain symptoms
would probably be easier than treating a client using allopathic medications
for similar purpose.

One might need to think about &/or look up side effects, effects in
combination, long term effects, and so on in taking on a case with
"medicinally active" herbs or supplements.
