Cat had a bad bleeding wound on back leg probably from a wild animal
outside....fox or raccoon or coyote. The wound is healed up and the cat was
still sleeping all the time which was sort of normal for him. But now he has a
limp and her leg shakes when she tries to stand on it...She has been climbing
onto couch and a chair all this week...so you wouldn't think it was broken.
But she meows when it is touched...not that deep moaning that cats do when in
a great deal of pain. I touched the bruise and she doesn't wince but if you
touch the leg lower down she pulls it up a little. What could this be? If it
were broken she couldn't walk at all, right? But she walks out to where her
food it during the day and I hadn't seen a limp before. Any ideas before my
husband drags her off to the vet?

Have you given her Arnica?

Sounds more like a tendon or ligament. I'd maybe try Ruta. I'll bet the vet will be clueless, and if you get an xray you may still be clueless if it's soft tissue.

sounds like the wound was not cleaned sufficiently and there
is inflammation/infection brewing. possibly and abscess.
the vet go for abs and if an abscess will lance it and want to
medicate.
I would give cs internally—feed instead of water or squirt several times
daily into cat’s mouth.
Then depending on symptoms, select correct homeopathic remedy to
help bring any abscess to the surface.
If wound gets opened, I tend to use golden seal root powder tincture alternatively
with CS to wash the wound and keep it cleaned out while healing.

I would "drag her out to the vet".
Cats CAN walk on a broken leg.
Vets are great for diagosis.

What is CS?

It could be nerve or tendon damage. In any case, the vet could not do much and if he jumped to what he could do like give drugs, he would do more damage than help. Both nerve and tendon damage are going to take time to heal. Carol's problem is calming down family members and getting them to give the body time to heal.

I did the case with Carol just for practice.

The cat was bitten by wild animals about a week ago right? Hypericum was given for a pucture wound at first. It was given in the water bowl and the cat had a choice to drink or not drink. Several days later, she treated the deep wound with Carbo-veg because the wound was bleeding after it appeared to be healed on the outside. Another area of injury was bleeding not the original wound. This newly bleeding area was not apparent in the initial case taking. The blood was bright red and dribbling. The cat appeared to be a bit cold and there was another symptom that I have forgotten.

It was difficult for Carol to see the wound because the cat has a lot of fur around it. If I had known this, perhaps I should have asked her to shave the area with a shaver?? To do that, I would put the cat in a laundry bag and just leave the leg sticking out. I could do this with my cat, but she is used to being put in bags. Don't know if any cat could be treated this way or if it would be worth it to shave around the wound so it is possible to really look at it.
Taking the case was difficult because we were talking on email and at first I did not realize that I was taking a case. Not the recommended situation I know. I was not getting very good symptoms even when I started seriously asking about what was happening.
