diluting

I want to dilute Arnica 30C, not in the sense of increasing the potency, but rather in the sense of bringing the potency down to perhaps 12C or 6C. Can I do that by putting one pellet into a cup of water? I bought 3 tubes of 30C and I find that it is too strong for my joepathy purposes. Any suggestions would be nice.

Dear Roger
Potency is a result of both dilution and succussion.
So once you have succussed to 30C, then it can only go up.
You can for example - as per plussing method - drop a globule is a small amount of water in a bottle and succuss it 10 times by banging the bottom of a hardish surface. The potency will be slightly higher than 30C.
In acute cases this is a good method of repeating a remedy without repeating the same potency. In urgent cases, a teaspoon may be taken after 10 succussions every few minutes.

Dear Roger,
You can not lower a potency.
If you dilute it, it is still the same potency - just a dilute version of it.

Using a dilute version can be useful.
Some cats for example get a three-dilution-cup dose. (It can be 1 to ten or more cups of dilution)
This means a pellet is put into a cup to dilute it - it is dissolved, stirred but NOT sucussed.
Then a little of this (half a teasp) is put into a new cup of water and stirred gently 2 or 3 stirs
Repeat in a third dilutions cup.
Dose from there, a teaspoon of less.
