Hello Nancy
Just returned home and saw your message.
Agree that people need to learn what healthy eating is about.
I am familiar withj Enig’s recommendations. Also, other similar ones.
I use coconut oil for cooking and have actually increased the amount I use.
It makes the food more satisfying and reduces the tendency to go for more servings.
Eating it raw is also fine.
We can get into an major discussion on healthy food and diet.
But I can also say that when there is an imbalance that expresses in poor eating,
the correct constitutional tends to remove the cravings for poor food choices. Further,
it tends to result in the body beginning to want to eat healthier ones.

I agree constitutional treatment is the best. But nutritionally, Mary Enig (in the book Eat Fat, Lose Fat) has 4 core principles for weight loss:
1. Eat 3 meals a day and always eat breakfast
2. Include traditional fats especially organic virgin coconut oil
3. Eat nutrient-dense foods especially those supplying calcium and vitamins A and D
4. Restrict calories moderately.
She also recommends 20 minutes before each meal take a Coconut Infusion: 1-2 Tablespoons of organic extra virgin coconut oil in a mug, add hot water and let oil melt before drinking. This decreases the appetite and coconut oil goes directly into use as energy and is not stored as fat.
How much to use? For weight of 90-130 lb use 1T, for 131-180 lb use 1.5 T, for weight over 180 lb, use 2 T.

if there is an imbalance in the body on any level, a
homeopathic
constitutional remedy
correctly chosen will affect the appetite. Taste
in food may change
for the better as well
as cravings to eat inappropriately. But there is
no remedy just to
dull the appetite as with
allopathic drugs.
