Help with this patient:

Patient has L5 – S1 vertebra touching in back (we have x-rays). Pain is much better after traditional Chinese Medicine and Hypericum 30C, but patient is still debilitated and in pain. Walks sort of bent over.
Patient is also constipated. Before voiding, the fecal matter builds up in the lower colon and/or rectum and evacuation can be quite difficult and troublesome. Prune juice helps.
He is 67 years old and lives with loving family. He has stopped the TCM because he says that homeopathy should be able to fix the problem. And he has stopped the hypericum 30C because it has done all that it can, he says.
He has difficulty doing household chores, and this could cause a depression if he doesn't get relief soon.
Please help.

so he has a damaged/collapsed disc. very painful, indeed.
the constipation may be related to this back problem as the nerves coming thru the
spinal vertebrae that are impacted may be feeding the colon and preventing proper
function.
if this not the cause of the constipation, case needs to be carefully taken.
also his diet needs to be examined. lack of exercise? how severe is the depression
which could depress body functions as well as the spirits.
sounds like a very independent, self-directly person.

He is very independent and self-directed. The depression is not yet here, but it is a possibility in the future. He was very active before this manifested in the obvious physical world, but since has struggled with even doing push-ups, etc. If I recall, he said that he was constipated before March 17th, but I am sure that the disc compression is not helping. Not getting much activity would contribute to the constipation.

He drinks a lot of kefir smoothies with strawberries, apples. The kefir is cultivated in pasteurized milk and is spiked with a magnesium taurate tab. Scrambled eggs with coconut oil and butter. I'm trying to remember what what he has told me. Butter popcorn. Apples. Prune juice. Prunes. Fish occasional. A lot of vitamin pills, but he has been reading homeopathic literature and has decided that most of those pills will not be replaced, only the Vitamin D, fish oil, and CoQ10 will be replace, I think that is what he said.

He used to juice, so tomorrow when I see him I can probably suggest to him that he should start juicing again, if he can afford it.

Sincerely,

Roger

Need to find out what kind of movement he can tolerate. Some yoga moves might be helpful
as they are slow and easy. There a standing pose in yoga that sucks in the gut and moves it
around. Good for intestines.
Sounds like he has a lot of sugar with the fruit. Vegetables would be better if he could increase them.
Especially the dark green leafy ones.
Calcium bentonite clay is good to cleanse the system. Can take about 1/4-1/2 tsp in glass of water or in tea
or any other liquid. Once a day should be good.
And then work on the constitutional remedy

Dear tamarque,

Leafy greens are vata (Ayurveda) and make his constipation worse, or at least that is what he says. But I am sure that he can reduce his fruit intake and at least get some greens.

And I just saw the other day that he has some "Bentonite" on his counter, so I assume that this is calcium bentonite. It was a Now (company name) product.

I was hoping that you people could do a constitutional for him. I have given you a lot of information about him.

NOW brand is very questionable. They do use GE material for many of their supplements.
I doubt that anyone will do his case on a site like this. It clearly stated is not the purpose of the group.
And his case is way more complicated than the info you provided.
If this man wants his case taken, you can get his permission and give location and maybe someone
would be interested in taking him on privately

Is he walking bent over because he feels better that way? (colocynthis)

Yes, but it has gotten to be such a habit he tells me that he does it all the time even when it doesn't hurt. But to straighten up, I have seen him yelp like a beaten dog when he tries to reach something high. It positively pitiable.
