There is lots of nbacteri in the mouth. THe saliva has amylase to break down sugars because mouth bacteria feed on sugars and carbs. So, you could simply not have flossed or conducted good hygene or eaten too manhhy carbs and not brushed.

Mix a heavy concentration of sea salt in water. Hold in same side cheek as long as possible, repeat often.
This will pull out the toxins and cleanse the gums.

One thought on this is that Magnesium supplements will rebuild enamel
as well as maintain gum health. Getting adequate Magnesium along with
Vit C and H2O2 daily mouth washing will help keep up mouth health.
Personally, whenever my Vit C levels fall or I don’t eat enough dark greens,
my gums will begin to bleed when brushed, even with daily brushing, flossing,
and using H2O2 rinses.
