Dear George and Betty Dluzak,

thank you for your interesting case. I have a few comments and queries if
you don't mind.

1) Regarding her Diabetes - I am sure you are aware that Diabetes Insipidus
arises from a dysfunction in the pituitary gland which makes it very
different from Diabetes Mellitus. The dysfunction can arise from a trauma
like a fracture to the head as well as tumours and other reasons. So it is
interesting that the hospital thought she had crushed her skull because of
the large black bump on her head. Of course she has inherited the
disposition for Diabetes from her father as well but it would be interesting
if you could say more about this large black bump on her head.

2) You wrote an interesting snippet about her being jealous of an aunt -
please can you say more about this as well. Why is she jealous of her etc.

3) Until these queries are answered I can say that I am thinking about the
Baryta group of remedies, especially Baryta Mur.
Baryta has the theme of learning difficulties (often abandoned, neglected
and made fun of because of this) coupled with the Muriaticum theme of
nurture and love from parents (or others) which might be missing, they
really feel neglected, which is a big issue I picked up on with this girl.
And for this reason she can turn that around and feel so comfortable being
with other children who have special needs, as you wrote.

Baryta Mur also has a strong affinity with glands including the tonsils, <<
right side (some materia medicas say left side); convulsions; learning
difficulties; extreme thirst, frequent flow of urine; haemorrhaging into the
skin (which might explain the large black lump on her head??).

Hope you find this worthwhile and I look forward to any further comments you
might want to post to the group.

Best wishes, Joy Lucas
