Lavender was: A new homeopathic insect repellent

I did find that there were 3 cases that concerned the doctor (I will say here at the top of the email that we don't know if the boys were using soy products, plastics or what vaccines they had that might have had that affected this, or if whole thing made up to speak badly about lavender and alternative treatments - much so-called research, we are finding, is made up)
But with the first 3 - "The three otherwise healthy Caucasian boys, ages four, seven and 10 years, had normal hormonal levels when they were diagnosed with gynecomastia by Clifford Bloch, M.D., in Colorado. All had either used lavender-scented soap and skin lotions, or shampoos or styling products that contained tea tree oil and lavender oil as ingredients.
Although they do say..........."In each case, several months after the suspected products were discontinued, the gynecomastia had subsided or resolved. "
Further research was done, only on cells and not on people ""The results of our laboratory studies confirm that pure lavender and tea tree oils can mimic the actions of estrogens and inhibit the effects of androgens," said Korach. "This combinatorial activity makes them somewhat unique as endocrine disruptors." "
So it needs to be looked at further - in my experience, as of late, a lot of 'natural' moms use lavender oil for everything - lavender oil and tea tree oil AND colloidal silver (CS). They think because natural it is just fine. And they use it in suppressive ways - they think healing, I think suppressive. They use it on any skin condition, in ears, in diffusers, in humidifiers. They also use tea tree oil and CS in everything and you know tea tree oil is in a huge number of products now. They use it any time they think there might be an infection, and the same way they use lavender oil.
And had one homeopath who I refer to tell me that she had a patient all ready for a natural birth in water and woman and doula ready with remedies, and then they say the midwife pour a whole bottle of tea tree oil the water birth water! --
"Quick reminder, based on experience with a pregnant client recently at a home birth with 2 midwifes.
We had everything set, ready to go, homeopathic birth plan, all the remedies, advice to prepare her, etc. was for water dosing. Doula was going to handle remedies in water dosing for my client.
This was a home delivery after 2 C secions, with a septate uterus, using a birthing tub.
So the Midwife arrives and immediately DUMPS a whole bottle of tea tree oil in the birthing tub! The room, water reeked of it!
No remedies worked well. But should have. The tea tree oil severely interrupted their action.
Best action was in the bathroom, away from the tub, for a few minutes on the toilet where Bell 10M pushed a stalled labor quickly ahead, after 36 hours.
Lesson learned, no tea tree oil in the birthing tub (who knew she would do it and so much?!?)"........Homeopath

"3. What are some likely routes of exposure to endocrine disruptors?
Exposure to endocrine disruptors can occur through direct contact with pesticides and other chemicals or through ingestion of contaminated water, food, or air. Chemicals suspected of acting as endocrine disruptors are found in insecticides, herbicides, fumigants and fungicides that are used in agriculture as well as in the home. Industrial workers can be exposed to chemicals such as detergents, resins, and plasticizers with endocrine disrupting properties. Endocrine disruptors enter the air or water as a byproduct of many chemical and manufacturing processes and when plastics and other materials are burned. Further, studies have found that endocrine disruptors can leach out of plastics, including the type of plastic used to make hospital intravenous bags. Many endocrine disruptors are persistent in the environment and accumulate in fat, so the greatest exposures come from eating fatty foods and fish from contaminated water. "

Dear Maria,
I wouldn't worry about it TOO much since the original 2007 "research" vailidity has been questioned.
