pathology study method

Hi,
I don't have a strong medical background. I have made an index to Lilienthal, Homeopathic Therapeutics, and find it to be a very useful book. Not to find a remedy, but to look for confirmation. Anyway, the book is full of archaic terms and normal medical terms that I don't know. Writing in the physical book is not very satisfactory. Too messy.
Recently I discovered a free program called Sigil. It allows me to download a copy of Lilienthal into it. I used epub and to my delight, the book was already formated http://openlibrary.org/books/OL25241402 ... erapeutics But the process of formating the book is very simple. http://web.sigil.googlecode.com/git/fil ... _file.html
I usually use Roger Morrison's Desktop Companion to Physical Pathology along with Lilienthal for current information.
I want to have information like of this type that I can use in my Kindle. I am generally frustrated by the typical homeopathy publications because they lack indexes and a table of contents. If it is a reference, it is very difficult to use without those amenities.
So with Sigil I can easily make my own TOC and Index. I am also adding notes from Roger Morrison, the Net and I suppose later other authorities. The process is very interesting because I am making a product that I personally want and need. I suppose it would not be valuable to others because it contains my notes, but others could make their own notes. I am noting page numbers so that I can also refer to a photocopied version of Morrison's Desktop Companion. Also, the definitions of unknown words.
I was initially thinking I would just note the emergency information, but because the process is so interesting, I began working on everything. Even so I am on page 108, burns and feel very happy with what I have been learning. I probably worked for about 5 hours, but that was well used time. In the beginning I spent a lot of time figuring out what I was doing. If anyone is interested, I will tell you more.
Best,
Ellen Madono
