long cough

Post by Amity & Jason Engleson »

My daughter has had a cough for 18 weeks-I have done nothing for it as it isn't very bothersome and only is sporadic in a sense-not constant or all night long just a cough here and a cough there.
She now is getting a tickle in her throat making her cough more and I don't want this turning into something
seems to get a cough when going from warm to cold and sometimes vise versa
I was trying to find rubrics for a cough that has gone on forever-any ideas?
She is a runner and it doesn't get in the way of that at all-thank goodness
She is sensitive-she actually feels what other people feel, hates being the center of attention, does not like when others argue, super responsible, she does get angry easily with her sister and sometimes gets so mad she wants to punch something(which is so opposite of everything else I just said)
Any ideas?? I know if I were to go to a doctor antibiotics would be given and am not doing that!!
oh and the cough is dry and hollow sounding usually comes out in 2's cough cough

Sounds very much like me, even to the personality. On repping my cough, taking into account other factors as well, I found Spongia was the one for me.
The other remedies that came up were:
Cough; temperature, change of:
Acon aran-ix bry cor-r corv-c cur graph ichth KALI-C LACH lact Nat-c PHOS polyg RUMX seneg SEP spong VERB
Hope this will help.
Regards
Christine

Anything that lasts longer than 3 weeks is a chronic condition and should not be treated by an untrained homeopath. You should not be treating your daughter as you are not an unpredjudiced observer. Please see a professional homeopath in your area. We all go through this as professionals and we need to consult someone outside of the family. Warmly. Maria

Sounds like the cough I have had – it took a couple of months to go completely and again it was a cough and caused initially from a tickle. I took Phos 6 which loosened it . I was then coughing infrequently to bring up a thick lump of mucus which obviously wasn’t infected as it wasn’t yellow or green. Don’t really think I took anything else. It didn’t bother me at night or anything so I just ignored it . I never coughed when I exercised until I stopped and then I coughed to bring up what the exercised had loosened.

Could this be a Coccus Cacti cough?

MODALITIES
Worse; left side, after sleep, touch, pressure of clothing, brushing teeth, slightest exertion.
Better; walking.
Aggravation of symptoms in warmth, especially in bed
Suffocative cough; worse, first waking, with tough, white mucus, which strangles.
Spasmodic morning cough.
Whooping cough attacks end with vomiting of this tough mucus.
Chronic bronchitis complicated with gravel; large quantities of albuminous, tenacious mucus, are expectorated.
Walking against wind takes breath away.
Thanks & Regards.

Coccus cacti – Mucous membranes of throat, respiratory tract and urinary organs are mostly affected by this remedy. It produces a catarrhal condition and irritation in these sites. This remedy is well indicated in violent paroxysmal cough ending in vomiting or raising much clear ropy mucus.
Thanks & Regards.
