It was very frustrating in NY when a few years ago the homeopaths couldn’t get it together
on a state law. Then the fight was whether to go for licensing or to be listed as a business
which would have permitted lay practitioners to practice. The naturopaths went forward
w/o the homeopaths. Don’t think they got their State recognition. Divisiveness weakens
everyone.
It is the old adage: We either all hang together, or we hang separately!

Divisiveness weakens everyone.

If you saw someone you don't agree with being swept into a river and toward a cliff, would you try to get help for them? Why not pretend that's what's happening now -- because basically, it is.

And the person you are helping to save, may turn out to be yourself.

This isn't a time to help only people we agree with; it's a time to protect the field for *all* of us, both as practitioners *and as patients*, to have the right to make our own choices about our health practices.

I agree, Shannon. This isn't the time to argue who's right - nothing will be gained and everything could be lost. Doctors don't always agree with one another, which is why some patients will always seek a 'second opinion'; same with dentists. The best stance for homeopaths is to show a united front - and that's where the difficulty lies.
When I started learning homeopathy, I was lucky to learn from David Little and Julian Winston but where would people go now? Who can they learn from properly? Do many homeopaths actually read and study The Organon? Are those who don't follow Hahnemann's way less successful in their profession than those who do? And then, of course, there are the remedies. Are they still made with the same substances as in Hahnemann's time? Probably not. Does it make a difference? What about GM and contamination from that, if any, but do we know for sure?
We've seen in the UK, the Society of Homeopaths (SoH) sucking up to the establishment, by saying there's no evidence that homeopathy can help with the Measles outbreak and that anyone concerned should seek the advice of their GP. What a load of....!!! Do they really care about homeopathy, or are they undercover from the pharmaceutical industry to help bring about the destruction of homeopathy?
I hope the same can't be said of the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths (ARH). Still waiting to hear their statement on this issue.
As the saying goes, "there are many ways to skin a cat." As homeopaths, we should all be aware of that.
