Here's a link to Paul Herscu's take on the current epidemic, which he thinks may not be influenza at all but other viruses with presentations not typical of influenza:

There's a place in his article where you have to click to continue reading the post. And it's well-worth reading, particularly for those who've seen patients who looked like Gelsemium but Gelsemium hasn't worked. Paul thinks the better remedies there are Silicea or Baptisia.

I read this a week or so ago. I had a patient who got over the worst with Baptisa but then relapsed. She tried Gels and relapsed again. I tried the Silica and it did nothing. The one that got shot of it for good was good old China – 1 dry dose 30 C and then WP every hour or so. I think she had to repeat it the following day.
