pathogens very probably are the result of illness, not the cause.
We are helping the symptoms produced by the vital force to be effective, especially when stuck or painful or life threatening.
It has nothing to do with pathogens - as Aph 1 says - we cannot know the cause.

And there has been debate throughout history as to whether bacteria cause illness or are the result of illness (cleaning up toxins/doing a job). Just because mosquitoes at a swamp, doesn't mean they caused it, for example. And viruses - what are they really We have no idea. They aren't alive. They have gotten a bad rap as it is useful for drug companies to blame them for everything in order to seel drugs and vaccines (same for bacteria). Viruses may very well be messangers between cells and we kill the messengers.

we can never know the ultimate cause - we can know contributing factors, maintaining 'causes' like mold, stress, etc, but not everyone exposed to mold, stress, pathogens, because ill.

miasmatic theory helps explain cause. But we can never know ultimate cause.

And certainly pathogens are not the ultimate case - some who are very weakened can't take the toxins produced by the bacteria when they are doing their job, for example. But they aren't the cause.
