Hello to group members.
Have any body taken Davis Little's course in Homeopathy
http://simillimum.com/
And can recommend or not recommend it?
I am looking for further education in homeopathy - especially chronic prescribing and case management. I got my DHom but I feel I need more training in chronic cases. I am still not doing well with chronic cases that I treat.
Thank you.
Miri

I haven't taken David's course but his website contains a plethora of info that all should read to become familiar with 4th, 5th 6th Organon editions, their differences, along with C and LM potencies, their proper uses It's a great reference especially for already trained homeopaths. Good clear instructions on prepping an LM, split C water dose bottles, etc.
As for chronic conditions, which I think of as inherited chronic diseases, illnesses that are genetically inherited, run in families, like bipolar, depression, diabetes, certain cancers like breast along with diseases associated with miasms like Parkinsons, those need a more miasmatic prescribing approach. Using polychrests/antipsorics and nosodes versus taking a case and choosing a remedy that reps well. It's amazing how many smaller non-polychrest remedies can rep so well and work so poorly with chronic conditions.
Not sure how many homeopathy training courses delve deep into miasmatic prescribing, even at the DiHom level, hopefully David's course discusses it more thoroughly. I checked my class notes from when I took a 2 year course with Jane Cicchetti in the 90's and she included various pages on each nosode, when appropriate to use as an intercurrent, etc.
Even many well known homeopaths aren't working this way. Dr Luc discusses using the anti-miasmatic intercurrent remedy while Andre Saine wrote in one of his books, a good homeopath never needs to use a nosode!
Glad I did look back since in her info on Psorinum seems like I should try it next as an intercurrent. Most recently I was on Tuberculinum 200 and 201C then LM 2-4 before having to stop. Mostly, I take an antipsoric almost daily, sometimes multiple times a day, which I started in in 200C and progressed from LM6 to currently LM16. This has allowed me to handle, which can be considered "cure" one chronic illness, stop a drug for it after 35 years, while hoping the good will eventually progress to the 2nd illness per Hering' Rule/Law
As usual advice, one needs to keep re- reading Chronic Diseaes as Hahnemann provides the approach to handling chronic illnesses. While it's not in easy bullet point format, his directions show it can be a long and drawn out process, not a rep, find "the" similimum and you're done as what many of us start out when learning homeopathy.
Also you can search http://www.minimum.com/ for books on miasmastic treatment and chronic disease. The few I've purchased gave good guidlelines on identifying chronic diseases thought to fall into each miasm, working with their nosodes and which antipsorics are generally indentified with one or more miasms. Also good discussions on miasmatic layering and what I find still confusing is identifying mixture of miasms when one progresses into another, latent psora, etc.
Having patience is a virtue when miasmatically prescribing!
