This is my first time posting. There is a lot of good info in this group. My cat who is 14 has been suffering from some kind of bladder/kidney issue for a few months. Had her to vet for 3 courses of antibiotics(injectible) vet said if it recurrs we will have to do some expensive tests. I decided to try homeopathics as i use them on people with good results. I am kind of new to homeopathics but learning all the time. I started my cat on Catharis 30x in her water everyday for about 2 weeks. After that I gave her sulpher 30x for 2 days.She was all better until i stopped treatment, symptoms came back 2 days later. Symptoms are: frequent litter box visits that sometimes dont result in anything. Seem like muscles in back end might be spasming too. Generally she seems to be unwell. After reading more I am now trying Arsenicum Album 30x 3 times a day rubbed on her gums. It has been 2 days but she does not seem "all" better" not like with the Catharis. Any suggestions on how to get her cured? Thanks for any help.

Get yourself to a fully trained homeopath, and stop trying to manage this on your own, please. While there are associations with bladder issues in both remedies, there may be all sorts of extenuating circumstances that make these remedies a poor choice for her, or at this time. The fact that they don't produce permanent results is a dead giveaway that they are not properly chosen. You are also putting her in danger of overdosing and producing symptoms not part of her disease.

This is a great example of why books like, but not limited to, Don Hamilton's, may be a bit dangerous. If anyone tries to give an example of what might be useful, someone is going to try to run with it. Homeopathy needs to be treated with respect and thorough understanding, especially when we are talking about chronic, unresolving conditions, as these mean a systemic involvement that requires advanced knowledge.
