As you have guessed, this is a phishing email. Do not respond!
The sender has managed to hack into someone's email and is sending this msg to all the addresses. I received one privately.
It reminds me of similar msg a couple of years ago, supposedly from a senior American Homeopath who was according to the email in Nigeria on some mission, been robbed and needed money.
When I enquired with colleagues in US, in turned out that she was fast asleep in her house in US!!
Such emails net over 1 billion US Dollars! So as far as they are concerned we are just money on a line ready to be picked!
