Dear Susan
You asked: "makes a prescription homeopathic?"
Remedy supplied by a homeopathic pharmacy? NO!
Remedy selected on the basis of Symptom Similarity? May Be.
Right Potency ? Not on its own!
A remedy can only be deemed to have been 'homeopathic' after its actions on the patient have been analysed!
The patient is the only TEST and TESTER!
For the analysis of the patient's reactions PLEASE read the ORGANON!

Hart,
I did reread your post, actually read first the NY Times article. It's an interesting idea but you shouldn't feel it is an argument to discuss it.
This forum may have experienced homeopaths but also many learning or honing their skills. I would have to relook at what makes a prescription homeopathic, and actually interested in doing so.
Some homeopaths here post info about current and upcoming cases to get feedback on treatment, some actually earn income from it.
As for the Ambien reversal, it's possible that there is a genetic predisposition where some may respond and some may not.
For example, cannabis sativa can produce catatonia in bipolar, but obviously millions of people smoke pot and don't become catatonic.
So the remedy cannabis sativa may help reverse a catatonic state, possibly mostly for those who have a genetic predisposition for bipolar.
A native NYC-er, I have plenty of chutzpah. It's one reason why NYC became the main destination for tourists, immigrants and homeopaths from around the world and within the USA who come here to do consultations.
