I am glad i joined such a knowledgeable lot
now i need some help and am sure most of u have the
answers already

Case:
A young girl 24yrs, suffering from frequent spells of
gidiness, aggravation in evenings and exertion fatigue

sudden lowering of pulse, and blood pressure

The aura felt as numbness and formication from the
occiput extending to the neck and then to the left arm
this followed by stiffness in the legs and extereme
weakness makin it hard to walk

no past history of major illness
born as a forcep baby with severe jaundice
desires refreshing things and juices
aversion to milk and milk products
sleep normal but disturbed since the problem started
one year back
she did her 2d echo and detected slight mitral valve
prolapse with postural hypotension
after that the episodes had decreased but since two
months they are coming back again
no pain or any sensation

went for holtor monitoring and ecg - detected sinus
bradycardia and abnormal conduction of impulses from
the sa node causing heart beats to be 147 perminute
at a time and sometimes 37 per minute

cardiacs opinion is that she might have to undergo EEG
or Pace Maker
Mentals
Emotional
no past history of any major stress

*during one of the episodes an abnormal event where
she laughed without any reason non stop for 10 minutes
followed by crying and then all her complaints started
this year....20th jan 2002

after this she cud herself realise that the
irritability has considerably increased
Menstrual History...Normal since 2 yrs scanty
sometimes only for oneday
and water retention 7 days before her date

What say guys, any answers? Shud she reconsider
surgery or stay on homoeo

queries is ....find a substance which u think can be
useful in homoeopathy as a medicine ...shud be a new
find apart from existing ones...plants minerals
animals etc reasons why!

Dear Rochelle,

Initially because of the mitral valve prolapse although Apocynum has
metrorrhagia which contraindicates. I was working from the point of view
that the valves were the casue of the vertigo but we do not know this for
sure. Valvular heart disease can be symptomless for a long long time and is
often only found routinely on examination. If is not the cause then this
changes the picture somewhat.

Strop can also have uterine haemorrhage but the uterus can also become
congested with no blood flow so I was more interested in this Rx. I also
thought of Nat Carb especially with the episode of laughing and then crying,
milk agg. exertion agg. menses late and scanty, but I don't know much about
heart sx except for violent palpitations. This episode seems only to have
happened once so even though it is odd we do not know how much it dominates
the case. That is as far as I got. Maybe others can contribute.

Young girl at 24 should not go for surgery.Case is incomplete but Study
DIGITALIS ,may be use ful in palliating and as curative.She may need
Medorrhinum as intercurrent remedy depending on her family history or her
personal history of Rheumatic fever if it is there.
