HI was wanting help with a rubric or rubrics to cover the following
Asthma with SAI heart is burning

Mother says he doesn’t feel hot to touch on head but chest/torso feels like it is burning up

Asthma with SAI heart is going to break

Wants ice pack on chest when has asthma (with the above two sensations)
Asthma starts with a cold – runny nose and lots of mucous – then goes to chest – sometimes fever (high 40 degrees C) – then cough and then wheezing and Shortness of breath with above sensations and wish for ice pack.
Thought the ice pack is a good PQRS but having trouble finding a rubric to cover it – as he is worse damp and really cold climates (much better dry climate) the ice seemed so distinctive?? He is an ambi to hot constitution.
Anyone got any ideas.

Hi Pauline:
The key is the burning sensation - you have to look at remedies that feel burning to the pt. Arsenicum or phosphorus are both 'burning' remedies. You would look more at that sensation than anything else: including the need for ice on the chest.
Look at rubrics like:
respiration, asthmatic, cold after taking
respiration, asthmatic, children in
respiration, asthmatic
respiration, pain, burning
abdomen, pain, burning
generals, pain, burning
you don't need to find a rubric for the ice cold applications - look in the generals section - cold applications ameliorate
The Kali's have heart pain also but it is more stitching than burning - not sure you have to find the 'breaking' sensation since it is more of a burning pt
I would look at phos, ars, kali-c to start--there are a lot of other rx for a child with this type of asthma, but those might help narrow it down a bit.
