vaccine exemption help

I am having difficulty finding a licensed person to write a vaccine exemption for my

15 yr old granddaughter. She is going to Senegal this coming month and the ND who

said he would do it, refused yesterday. I am really ticked off. But still need to get this

done ASAP. We are in NYS. Is there someone on this list who can do this for us, or

knows someone who can. Don't know if the practitioner needs to be licensed in NY as

this is a global program.

What about the old "allergic to eggs"? That's how my son gets out of vaccinations when he goes to Senegal or Mali.

The issue is getting someone medically recognized to write a letter.
I think my DO will write a letter saying he has examined my Gd and explained
the issue of malaria and the vaccine, but we have declined the vaccine in lieu of
holistic protocols.
The egg allergy sounds good, but NYS is downright reactionary on the vaccine issyue.
Where are you located again?
Who are you telling that he has an egg allergy?

there are no vaccines required for Senegal except if coming from a yellow fever infected area
http://www.traveldocs.com/sn/health.htm

and http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_t ... _1013.html
"Current yellow fever vaccination is mandatory to enter Senegal and meningitis vaccination is highly recommended if the traveler is arriving from or has recently traveled to an endemic area. "

don't believe what they say - NO vaccines required if coming from US.

I know that Sheri.
The issue is that she is traveling with a group of people, an organized teen program. The program is
requiring the vaccine. However, they will accept a letter from a person who can write prescriptions to
say that other choices are being made. They need this in their records to cover their butts.
We are doing homeopathic prophylaxis for maleria which is in the area as well as some nutritional
support with probiotics, Vit D3 and Vit C--all of which she will take with her.

how can they require more than the law demands?
why can't they just write a letter saying they won't hold the program responsible?

not the way it works. we are not talking rationality--not when it comes to health issues and enforce vaccines.
people really think they are forced to get vaccines in order to travel. that is what the kids were told--forcefully.
when i spoke with the head of the program he changed his tune in 5 sec flat saying that the CDC only recommends
the vaccines.
it is understandable that these people carry a lot of responsibility taking a bunch of kids to a foreign country that
is so different from the one in which they live. and they don't want to have a bunch of very sick kids on their hands
where the access to health care is shakey.
that being said, we have refused the vaccines and i went looking for someone to write a letter. the ND and the DO
that i know both were very 'uncomfortable' in doing it. the ND refused after telling he would do it. The DO who I have
seen professionally and know he does not vaccinate his kids, was all over the place on this. i finally asked him if
he would get vaccinated if he did the same trip. he stopped, thought, and came back to say he didn't know!
i had to promise him that he was not taking any responsibility at all. all he had to do is say he explained the vaccine and
the disesase but that we were making an informed choice on our part. he did not have to vouch for homeopathy or anything
else. will see if he carries through with his promise.
these practitioners are hysterical about taking a stand, even knowing the dangers of vaccines.

I'm in Massachusetts, but my son probably flew out of NYC. Don't know whom he told, but I don't think a doc's note was required. You might inquire of the office issuing the visa for travel to Senegal; presumably the requirement is theirs, not our government's.
Peace,
Dale

It is not the govt or airport officials. it is the program that requires it for her to go.

but has anyone shown them that they aren't required by the country? sometimes they think they are required but only listed as recommended.
