OT-radiation question

Has anyone here been following this site? It's described as a
grassroots radiation monitoring project.

http://www.radiationnetwork.com/index.htm

It looks like an amazing project, and during the past weeks, their
number of participating stations has about doubled. But on checking
back to it for the first time in a while, I am puzzled! The numbers
reported for the US look reassuringly moderate--until once notes that
the reading showing at their single monitoring site in Japan is
actually lower than most of the US--not very credible to say the
least. Anyone have any idea what I'm missing here?

Thanks,
Shannon

Hi, Shannon --

The one figure presently visible on the Japan map is not for Fukushima but for a suburb of Tokyo, about 250 km SSW. So it's credible that it's lower than lots of places in the U.S.

Cheers --
