they keep saying that Wakefield's paper said MMR caused autism
It is a case report - it did NOT conclude that MMR caused autism
The paper says:
"We did not prove an association between measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine and the syndrome described.
Virological studies are underway that may help to resolve this issue."
This study was retracted by the Lancet - not because they did anything wrong - it was just a case report - report on cases.
These children were seen because they were ill and needed diagnosis & treatment, not because they were just doing research
Then they wrote a paper on the children they had seen
Very different than what they are saying - that he was doing unnecessary tests on children
AND Wakefield was not practicing as a doctor, hands on, at this time................he was part of a team and other doctors were doing the ordering and examining and testing
