Materia Medica of HMN ANTIPSORIC Rx - GUAJ (1)

DEAR FRIENDS
MM of HMN ANTIPSORIC Rx was subject of discussion I
began some mounths ago in minutus. Unfortunately the
discussion ceased because of some problems. Here we
may continue studying MM of HMN ANTIPSORIC Rx.
Guajacum officinalis
The sap which flows from the west indian tree Guajacum
officinale, which when inspissated is called gummi
guajaci,consist in great part of a peculiar kind of
resin.(CD)
It was first introduced into europe by the spaniards,
in the year 1508, frome the west indies , very soon
after the discovery of America , and was supposed to
be a perfect specific for syphilis gaining such
repute as to have been sold at seven gold crowns a
pound. It was also employed in rheumatism, herpetic
exanthem , deafness ,tonsilitis. (in old school of
medicine).

It proved first time in1818 by HMN.

If a healthy person proves Guaj, these locations will
be involved:
1- Glands, Tonsils, Ovaries
2- Fibrous tissue, Ligaments, Joints
3- Skin
4- Chest

According to Hahnemann It is an antipsoric remedy. But
you may find GUAJ as an antisyphilitic in some books.
The reason is that in cases of psoro syphilis to cure
psora some remedies like guaj, nit-ac, hep are
similimum. So in non Hahnemannian literature they call
these remedies antisyphilitic. But according to HMN
GUAJ is an antipsoric.

Symptoms of throat:

Tonsils and throat: Recurrent tonsilitis then
rheumatism / acute tonsilitis / tonsilitis accompanied
by pain in jonit / sharp stitches in throat extending
to ear when swallowing / burning pain in throat agg.
warm drink.

Please find other symptoms of guaj (only symptoms of
tonsils and throat) and share with us.
