Thoughts on The Kings Speech

Hello!

This evening, my husband and I went to see "The King's Speech". It was a very good moving about the English King who took over for his brother as king, when he abdicated due to his marriage with Wallace Simpson. The speech therapy that went on, and the history and emotional trauma that went on that was partially at fault- was revealed in communicating with this speech therapist..... In the end, the King was able to deliver his speech, and the beginning of a successful Reign in troubled times (war with Nazi Germany) was began.
The question begs to be asked by any inquisitive mind.... " What came first, the stammering or the embarrassment and fear of speaking...."

I really loved this movie, but it brought out a lot of ideas regarding treatment. I'm thinking that possibly a cranial nerve to the mouth and tongue was disassociated, which can typically be re-associated using 2 or more lasers simultaneously. But the Fear of speaking and the Fear of how others perceive you..... the overwhelming frustration, and terror...... all the emotions that a person goes through when their body doesn't work the way it's "supposed to".... That's something that Homeopathy shines in.

What was so very interesting in the beginning of the relationship between the King to be and the therapist was: the king could speak clearly - WHEN he had earphones on with loud classical music playing in his ears. I don't know if it equalized the noise between his hearing his own voice when speaking, kind of drowned it out.... or if it somehow is connected with the auditory cranial nerve..... ? It was just so very interesting! It kind of reminded me of a type of brain dyslexia....in an auditory sense. There are several people in the music industry who cannot talk without stammering, but can sing perfectly. It's just interesting.

What was made clear is that genuine acceptance and patience is so very key in this type of problem.

Just musing....
