Dear Soroush,
Thank you - here is the case:
Man aged 35; he had some of his symptoms mildly as a child even but
they got much worse since he had dysentery [organism unknown] in India
aged 20.
The complex of symptoms recurs when he is tired:
low back pain with stiffness and pain down L leg outer
aspect, sometimes going down to calf; hamstrings tighten; skin over
front of thighs feels oversensitive; abdominal discomfort and nausea;
itch around anus; sometimes a red rash appears on inner thigh which is
slightly itchy, and ringshaped; legs feel heavy and tired; face may
itch; feels irritable; profuse sweating esp in axillae.
No urinary or sexual symptoms. No objective neurological deficit
Osteopathic manipulation of back will immediately relieve the symptoms
but they recur often.
In addition to these symptoms which are episodic he has a daily
problem of postnasal catarrh and must get up about 6 am and spit out
clear or greenish catarrh. He appears to be a strongly built and
healthy looking man and he works full time.
My treatment was first dys co 1m x 3 doses which cleared the sweating
for 3 days only; after that I have given him nux vom, first as 6c,
then 30c, and lately as 200c in repeated doses. This has been very
effective at relieving the embarrassing sweating but not the other
symptoms.
It all sounds to me like some kind of miasm but which?
All suggestions welcome,
Richard
