[H] nuisance emails

Is anyone else getting frequent emails saying something like “Manjit thought you would like this” from “mailman at zorpia.com”? I don’t open them, so I don’t know what else they say, but I haven’t managed to train my junkmail to count them to SPAM though I have good virus protection.
It occurred to me that my Minutus membership may be being exploited when I noticed someone named Manjit among names of homeopaths on Facebook. I certainly know no one by that name, nor have I ties to that site. Anyone have any info for me? Happy Holidays, in any case! Teresa (Northern VA)

I have gotten posts from several people and websites that were hijacked spam.
I am also getting a lot of marketing garbage. I think this is the beginning of the loss of
net neutrality and takeover by corporate america!!!!

There have been several times when the list has been 'misused' to sell a variety of quasi homeopathic/natural/whatever. There have also been times when individuals have stolen identities – I think cloned is the proper term – and pretended to be members of this list to sell their stuff. There appear to be some very creative people with lots of time on their hands. For the most part, I believe the source in the past has been Indonesia, India, and China – I don't think 'corporate America' has been involved in the schemes we've gone through in the recent past.
As to the general marketing garbage – if you can identify the ip numbers – there is usually a way to get them to take you off their lists. Usually your isp has a spam reporting email address – and you can simply forward those emails to them.
