I am trying to collect some online evidence about the use of Homeopathy in severe head injury [ in coma still after 10 days ].
It is unlikely I will have the opportunity to observe but might try passing on information.

PhD; Pirozzi, Therese O'Neil ScD, CCC/SP; and Woo, Elaine MD, "Homeopathic Treatment of Mild Traumatic Brain Injury: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial", Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation, December 1999; 14(6):521–542, if you can get hold of it.
From the abstract:
"Results: Analysis of covariance demonstrated that the homeopathic treatment was the only significant or near-significant predictor of improvement on DSS subtests (P = .009; 95% CI – .895 to – .15), SRS (P = .058; 95% CI – .548 to .01) and the Ten Most Common Symptoms of MTBI (P = .027; 95% CI –.766 to –.048). These results indicate a significant improvement from the homeopathic treatment versus the control and translate into clinically significant outcomes.
"Conclusions: This study suggests that homeopathy may have a role in treating persistent MTBI. Our findings require large-scale, independent replication."
A review paper from 2008 (Steven R Flanagan, Joshua B Cantor, and Teresa A Ashman, "Traumatic brain injury: future assessment tools and treatment prospects", Neuropsychiatr Dis Treat. 2008 October; 4(5): 877–892) states that no work has been done in the area since 1999.

Jean, I just put into a search 'homeopathy and coma' and came up with considerable amount, some of it forum based but with cases sometimes.

Thanks Joy. I was searching Head injury/homeopathy. Got 2 now with reasonable references .
I could write a summary of remedies used most often and how they are chosen but need some something more impressive. Best Wishes Jean

If you can get hold of any cases by Paul Herscu, he has treated a lot of head injuries - some extremely severe. Worth following up (I went to a seminar of his a few years back on this topic)

After head injury if the patient is in coma and you hyave nothing else
to prescribe on first give opium (for about 2 days) later Nat-s

I have had to deal with quite a few cases. If you get symproms of
cpurse prescribe on that first. But finally Nat-s has to be given
somewhere.

Thank you. I would agree. Knowing the fella I am pretty sure would need Opium . ? daring!// I have not gained access yet but will persist for a time. I have gathered together some evidence which can present if opportunity arises. Jean
