Any suggestions for a friend who has her foot in a cast because of an Achilles rupture? I always thought ruta but on repping it this seems to be an insignificant Rx i.e. ordinary type. Calc phos seems to be favoured in a sport and exercise injury book.
Does anyone have practical experience with healing this.
Thanks

Sorry can not remember from where saved this, jean
To the surprise of the Doctor I was walking a little with limping and I could do all the exercises without difficulty or pain, due to RUTA taken earlier. However the ruptured ligament required some remedy for rebuilding. I went into books. The tissue remedies gave the help. KALI PHOS, FERRUM PHOS, MAG PHOS, SILICEA together daily four doses, 4 pills a dose made me walk freely and the separation at my knee vanished. Now I am able to use my leg as usual, Homoeopathy can cure even in a field Allopathy does not have anything to do.

Thanks Jean , but is this correct as it refers to the knee whereas the Achilles is in the heel.

Tut, tut...four remedies all together!
In India we can buy them ready mixed in pill form
for ligament injuries or strains

I would have thought any tendon but have no personal experience.. It must be partial rupture otherwise surgery would have been necessary, Jean

For added thoughts, here are these that I'd saved (sorry for the weird formatting!):
From: Pauline Ashford
... re the Achilles don’t forget Symphytum also – Boericke lists it as good for injuries to sinews tendons and periosteum – I used it plus Ruta for my partner who ruptured his Achilles in 1994 – I have also used it for my son who after a car accident had fractures and avulsions of ligaments and tendons in his ankle and fibula – Drs were amazed at the tendon and ligament repair – of course the very important thing is physiotherapy after the repair – have observed the difference between 3 different people with Achilles ruptures – (2 were not my patients) and my partner had the best recovery – the others wouldn’t work through the pain and stiffness and have permanent loss of ROM in the ankle whereas my partner who really pushed his (he said the best was walking up hill – he has a farm on the side of a mountain!!) has almost complete return of usefulness.

... this was three years before I started to do my training and was just an avid reader and studier of remedies – the lady I got the remedies off at the time – said to put them together (12C) and give them frequently to begin with (3 x day) and as it improved to go to ORS (On Return of Symptoms)– I would do it differently now but actually in my partners case – he was/is never patient or observant enough to give me a good case – even now!! – so would probably have been difficult to differentiate between remedies – so in one way the mix meant that he would just take it rather than have to report or be observant – it worked because he stated that whenever he stopped using it the ankle got sore again, swollen again, and felt less stable so at least the improvements meant that he continued to use it on return of symptoms till it was no longer necessary. I don’t know if there is any difference between ruptured or shredded – my partners was snapped (called ruptured) but as the tendon really resembles a rope of strands the break looks very shredded – Achilles tendoniditis is often when the outer layers of the rope start to ‘fray’ rubbing badly as it passes through the channel causing inflammation and pain - this often precedes the breaking, though my partners was spontaneous while we playing squash – after warming up and playing six games – I was scoring when it happened and heard it snap from the upper gallery!!!
In my son I used Symph 30C (I don’t have a 12C) and was mainly on the symptom/remedy indications and the fact that he had 3 horrible breaks in his fibula and a crack in his tibea. Surgeons were worried that there may be difficult union in one of the fractures - he had not rupture the Achilles though he did have avulsions of ligaments and smaller tendons in the ankle– I used Ruta grav and Rhustox later when indications were more definitely towards these remedies and it was at the time when he finally had the pin out of his ankle and was able to start moving it so the ligament and tendons were ‘tested’ the first time. Again physio was a big factor in full recovery – my son is a drummer and used the double kick pedal off his bass drum endless against a pillow leaning on the wall (as Mum couldn’t stand the noise of the drum!!) but worked as very effective physio!
Hope this helps regards Pauline

Would you settle for three?
Generalities; INJURIES, BLOWS, FALLS AND BRUISES; RUPTURE of; Tendons (l, 3, 0) (3) : anac., calen., rhus-t.
(I would have thought ruta would be there??)
