Like every treatment, it is better done under the supervision of a professional homeopath who can modify the method of administration, guide the frequency of doses and prescribe intercurrent remedies if need be, nothing different from the LM methodology for example.
It is really simple and no guesswork involved.

Dr. J. Rozencwajg,

My son's previous homeopath never used intercurrent remedies. When there was acute symptom , he was using constitutional remedy(eg directly onto your tongue 1 drop every 3 hours, water dosage every 1 hour). It was working very well such as, when he was throwing up or cold symptoms and also it was a gauge for whether the remedy is right or wrong. I was kind of agree with that use of remedy because I didn't think there is acute or chronic symptom(no different). The symptoms are created by the person so constitutional remedy can solve every thing but current homeopath does use intercurrent remedies for his cold. Does intercurrent remedy share the constitution of the person? Is there possibility acute remedy turns into constitutional remedy?

Any remedy is chosen according to the symptoms that are present.
Your "constitution" can be Calcarea Carbonica, I certainly will not use it if you present with Belladonna symptoms................
I have a very simple mind and approach to treatment: the main complaint and the situation that is actually in front of me is what I have to treat. When that is solved, I will worry about the rest, I.e constitution, miasms, etc,..... without theorizing.......the simpler the better......
Sorry if that does not answer your question.

Yaaah, headache time again! :-)

The differing definitions of "constitutional remedy"...

Among homeopaths who use (what they call) the "constitutional remedy" to treat the patient's acute complaints too, the meaning of "constitutional remedy" is something like "remedy chosen to fit the patient's presenting picture based upon their present picture and lifetime history"--or something like that. I'm not trained in that method, but know several others who are (by Mangialavore, and ??), and that's my understanding. If anyone here can elaborate on that or clean it up, I would be grateful!

That is why I put " around the word constitution...........almost every author has a different interpretation, and all of them do make sense in a way..........
Personally I use the term core remedy..................and I am preparing a paper explaining how I see it, so that I can also claim some fame at muddling the water but seriously, I am attempting to simplify the whole concept in my mind, once it will be clear to me, I will share.....don't hold your breath, it will take time as I have other commitments for now......

I always thought the term was put forward by George, certainly was used a lot when I started studying back in the '80's. I tried to avoid it and stay with either chronic or acute but it is usually meant to mean the overall chronic state sort of like the way that Catherine Coulter has written about rx states.
