Supplements & Vitamins

Dear Colleagues
It is correct that some of the food now available in a lot of locations lacks in real nutrients, have been sprayed with all sorts of pesticides and herbicides and have possibly been zapped by gamma radiation.
(I have in my fridge a couple of corn cobs with best before 31/8/2010 label on them. They still look ok - so we know they have been zapped!]
At the same time, because of poor farming methods and other considerations, things get added to food and water (like growth hormones in milk in USA and chlorine and fluorine in water, antibiotics in chickens) that have no place to be there.
The only reliable food is Organic and especially if you grow it yourself.
Diet is a very important consideration in homeopathic treatment - please see Aph 94 amongst others

Vitamins and supplements can and do cause major problems without people who take them (and some times people who prescribe them) being aware of the problems.
Take a normal vit supplement containing vitamin A for instance. Then check how many carrots you would have to eat to absorb the same amount of vit A. Also the vit A from carrots is absorbed slowly, that from the tablets comes in as rush and puts a great burden on the liver especially.

So supplements and vitamins should only be used when one is absolutely sure that there is deficiency in the patient and that well indicated remedies have not helped the situation. That is to say as a matter of last resort.
