The following has come up on my antenatal teacher e group re the BCG
vaccination for babies. How do you think I should contribute?

Dear all

I'm really unclear as to whether we can really equate homeopathy with
medical vaccinations and tell couples that they are equal in value. As far
as I know there has hardly been any research into homeopathy, and I'm not
sure there's all that much evidence to draw on either. I would feel I wasn't
being fair to clients by putting side by side as equals something that has a
lot of medical research behind it (even though I know medical research needs
to be questioned) and something that has no research back-up.

My question is on a completely different topic. I have a client booked on a
course that hasn't started yet who has hypothyroidism. Has anyone got any
information/tips for me about the condition, how it will affect her in
labour and postnatally, etc?

Suggest you point out that it is unbelievably stupid (use your own words
for anyone to swallow whole the propaganda that suggests that vaccination
"protects" anyone from anything!

Since most people seem have difficulty exercising judgement based on
critical thinking and evaluating multiple sources of information (OTHER than
their television) -you might try countering the propaganda-scare tactics
with some "anti" vaccine information which is generally suppressed:

Is the RISK of meningitis, encephalitis, "sudden infant death syndrome" or
other possibly permanent debilitation an acceptable one in trade for
SUPPOSED (but inherently unproveable) "immunity" from... MEASLES ??? How
many people do you know who've had any serious health complications from
MEASLES? Or Mumps? or Chickpox?
