Hi,
Does anyone know an easy way to put a power point presentation on the
web? I am not very savvy about computer technology or the web.
I have been making a powerpoint representation of my interview plan.
I just cut and pasted pictures and a few simple anatomical charts,
jokes and inspirations for each section of the interview. It starts
with a little talk on the role of stress in disease., leads into a
life history. Then takes a detour to special questions for infants
and children. But could be used in talking about emotion and life
history.
The next part goes through body systems from head to toe like the
Repertory. In Grant Bentley's course, he suggested that we use names
of familiar pathologies instead of asking patients about body parts or
systems. He also says to be through, it is a good idea to develop a
structure to the interview. This head to toe idea is a loose
structure. But he is right, there are some body systems that I might
forget because I am less interested in them.
I get stuck with medical terminology sometimes because I am
interviewing in a foreign language (Japanese) So I thought this would
be a good solution for my problem. In fact, patients seem to answer
my questions partly in terms that they have learned from doctors which
include medical pathologies with some mention of body parts.
Surprisingly, I usually understand them, but I have a long ways to go.
I actually don't know how I dare to do this in Japanese. I am trying
to learn all of these terms, but it is not easy.
So I made a power point presentation that I plan to print out and give
to the patient to look at during the interview. Half of me says some
people will be distracted by this suggestion of structure and the
pictures and others will be comforted by the idea that I have a
structure to my interview. It is much more open ended than a
questionnaire. I also made myself a cheat sheet to go with my
powerpoint presentation. I am thinking it would be a good idea to use
this with distance (telephone) English speaking patients as well. So
I would like to figure out how to put the presentation on the web.
The distance patients all interview in English so I will translate the
Japanese presentation that I already have. I focused on pictures of
Japanese people and culture, but it was easy enough to find other
pictures for English speakers.
The problem is getting the presentation up on the web. For critique,
I would like to show any homeopath who is interested.
Best,
Ellen
