lymes

Anyone heard of a strong painless but annoying vibration that goes from the
top of the head back down to occiput. This is common to around 20 women who
have lyme's disease. Does the fact that this is common to lyme's disease, at
least in this part of the world, make it less weird as a symptom? The woman I
know who has this also has a twitchings under her eyes and of the tip of her
nose. When the twitchings start..the vibration in head increases. And a
feeling of "pulling" on the right side of the back of the head. Worse using
eyes(reading), worse after sleeping and naps and excitement. Also, worse in
afternoon 2 to 5. Can anyone suggest another word that is like pulling? New
symptom since all this is crying before her period. She has had lymes for 5
years...treated late apparently. I've been looking at Bell, bry, glon, and
lach and strot. Her doctor welcomes alternative medicine and i've encouraged
her to see the homeopathic doctor here in town but she has no money and is
trying to sell off all her belongings to pay for the lyme doctor.

Just an FYI
It is Lyme Disease
The disease is named after the village Lyme Connecticut of , USA, where a number of cases were identified in 1975.

when i had lyme it caused bell's palsey to develop. i had it in my face, total right side from
eye to chin. one of the sensations was pulling. i still get this at times, 9 yrs later. i will get
some twitching and pulling like a tight elastic. the location will change at different times. i
also used to get these horrible 'contractions' behind the right ear that felt like i was being
hit in the head with a hammer from the inside. yep, painful. i rarely get those anymore and the
locus of those contractions has moved down a bit so it isn't quite in the head anymore.
i attribute these reactions to nerve damage which never completely healed. although the
healing went on, at snail's pace, for quite a few years. perhaps it still is healing. i get these
attacks in the head very infrequently. the eye/face pulling and twitching is not severe and
no one else notices them. because of the slight paralysis i joke and say that one side of
my face look several years younger than the other.

It is not a less weird symptom - even if it is a common sensation when you combine it with the modalities it is not so- you have modalities, concomitants associated with it . It will be a good symptom to prescribe on if you can find a counter part to it in the repertory or materia medica... for pulling also try dragging, drawing etc.
The crying before periods is a more important symptom as this is new... at the same time see if you can find other symptoms of depression since any chronic condition causes depression - if there is evidence of depression then the symptom you need to work on is not just crying before periods but depression before periods as well...
Also make sure if the crying or depression was caused by a life situation... crying with some reason might not be important - but given the agg before menses I would still consider it as important...
If you forget about Lyme's and symptoms that came due to Lymes what other problems has she had and any symptom or peculiarity that predated Lymes would be interesting to know.
I shall also look up some rubrics -

I found a couple of pages of pulling sensations in the 1846 Therapeutics.

I would suggest not just going by the pulling sensation alone... basically Lyme's is a master imitator of other diseases. With hot weather < ( is it aggravation of any particular set of symptoms or averse to hot weather without reason) and sleep < - selenium and syphilinum are main remedies. Lach and Bell also appear in the fringes.
I like both Selenium and SYphilinum. Selenium since it covers the modalities and has a lot of symptoms chronic lyme's has... Syphilinum since it is also caused by a spirochete like Lymes and it covers the modalities as well...

Previous to illness:
fear of commitment
very independent, outgoing, fun loving
fear of heights...but that didn't stop her from skydiving
red blotchy neck when speaking in front of groups.
lived in heat(in india) just fine, never needed an air conditioner, liked the
heat
About 10 lbs overweight(about 50plus now)
Used to crave pizza, icecream, cheese and apples
The pain on right side of head is actually pinpointed to the right side of
occipital ridge. A feeling of pressure that is worse when a "front" is coming.
Feels better from pressing on it. What would that rep as? As in "worse from
change of weather"? She said a high or low front coming in...I don't know what
that means.
the crying before periods, she thinks that is from taking progesterone, at
least that is what her doctor tells her. Does that make it less significant?
I guess the question..does everyone taking progesterone cry before their
periods?
this is what happens from being Worse in the heat now:
"nauseated, sweaty, clammy, lightheaded, dizzy. if i go in the heat and exert
myself (used to try biking and carrying on before diagnosis when i was trying
to ignore my symptoms) would often come inside and be overheated-- bright red,
vomit, get dehydrated."
I know one should go with the general, worse from heat, over particular
symptom.. I'm just looking for confirmation of that....i mean you could get
other rubrics from that one statement about heat...worse from physical
exertion, or vomiting in heat....hey, doesn't this sound like
sunstroke..glonium, which also has twitching in wings of nose.
the syphilinum isn't in boeinghausen or the mater or chronic. I'll have to
look elsewhere...

Syphilinum I got from Boericke... working thru the general modalities-
Some of the neurological or seemingly neurological symptoms of Lyme could be covered under meningitis, encephalitis etc. which are indifferential diagnosis for Lyme's and when we talk about meningitis etc. the one remedy that will definitely pop up is Tuberculinum- and Syphilinum follows Tuberculinum or acts when Tuberculinum fails to
I think < heat is significant given that in the past it was agreeable...
Crying before menses might be due to progesterone or not but since we cannot know that for sure it would still be part of the totality- as you say not everyone might cry after Progesterone
Glon might be a good choice too if you think it covers the pertinent symptoms - one of the differential diagnosis for Lyme's is Toxic neuropathy - toxicity with Toluene - and Glonoine is Trinitro toluene

probably what is being referred to when she talks about a 'front' coming in is the change in barometric pressure (weather conditions)

I haven't heard back from the lyme person.. i had asked her for diseases in
her family..lot of congestive heart failure on one side...and her grandmother
on mother's side had TB in 1950. I'm waiting to find out if her mother had
been born yet when the grandmother got TB. Very strangely...her mother also
has lyme's disease but not as bad as the daughter. She is so independent, had
been so independent...and now she is almost completely dependent on her
family. Like she was traveling all over the world, asia and india and jumping
out of planes or whatever sky flying is and now she is like GROUNDED. Even if
the mother had already been born when the grandmother got TB....would that be
significant...that there was a susceptibility there?
