Sensitivities or canary in the mine?

I've been partly following the thread on sensitivities AKA Janine severely ill.
Today I had my teeth cleaned by a dental hygiene student at a local community college. It takes 3 hours but I'm on a week's break, it costs just $15, and they do a thorough job.
I declined the offer of x-rays. I declined the offer of topical anesthetic. Last and only time I had topical dental anesthetic, it was a thick, sickly sweet gooey glop which I tried to prevent from going down my throat without success. This was at a "holistic" dentist. That night I thought I was going to die. I started vomiting severely and when nothing was left to vomit, I retched and retched. Each time I felt it coming, as I lay in bed, I had to crawl to the toilet as I was incapable of standing up. I could not even get to the telephone to call for help, since it's downstairs. I moaned and feared dying, wanted to die to make it stop. All night. Eventually, morning came. I fell asleep exhausted and then woke and called the dentist. They figured it was an allergic reaction. Nothing but.
My body had been telling me, by my trying hard not to swallow, that this is bad stuff.
Today, at the end of the cleaning, she offered fluoride "treatment." While I object to fluoridated water which is injected into my source of drinking water and I'm currently unable to filter it out, as apparently only reverse osmosis will do that, I thought the topical fluoride would be OK. She took out the goop and let me sniff it. It smelled like drywall compound. Not a good sign. She put the goop in the little trays, put them inside my mouth and said to clamp down, with me holding the little tube for vacuuming spit at the edge of my mouth. In a few seconds, I had this horrible feeling of cold chemical filtering in streams up through my teeth and into my gums and up to my face, stop! I motioned with my hands to take the stuff out NOW! She did so and told me to rinse. I did so vigorously. I told them that I had this horrible feeling of cold seeping up through my teeth.
My body told me that topical fluoride is bad news, at least the version they have. I began to wonder what the H**L is going on with all this chemical bad stuff in dentistry, not just medicine. Is it ignorance or are they subtly trying to kill us?
