mentoring - a suggestion (or paying it forward!)

I joined this list and lyghtforce at the end of my studies, and benefited tremendously from several homeopaths (you know who you are) who agreed to mentor me at that time. They helped me through my beginnings as a homeopath and I will always be grateful for their help.
I found them by looking through the list, seeing whose opinions and methods "resonated" and approaching them directly to ask if they would be willing to mentor. The response was always positive, and people helped me with management of my own cases at the outset, in terms of opening up the remedy field, helping me with criteria for choice of remedy, helping me with case management and even holding my hand long-distance as a patient went through an aggravation. None of these people charged me anything for the help, one even went as far as to say it is the obligation of those more experienced to help those who are at the beginning of their path, something I think many homeopaths stay on argumentative (!) lists in order to do.
I want to suggest if any experienced homeopaths here would be willing to mentor other homeopaths with less experience, or students, that they offer that mentoring through the list. Say how many people you'd be willing to mentor, and if your offer is directed to students as well or only to practicing homeopaths.
To start the ball rolling (and I hope it will roll!) I'm willing to mentor 2 people - students or beginner homeopaths. I work mainly with medicinal solutions.

I already do this quite a lot but always willing to continue. On my study group we do regular online skype tutorials and this could be a way to offer supervision as well - as tutorials offer an even broader bouncing around of ideas and mentoring.
This is a very important idea you are presenting

I know when I asked for mentoring it was very difficult for me, I was asking a favour from total strangers and had no idea what to expect. That's why I thought of putting this forward.

that's very generous Vera. i wish i were in a position to take you up on it, as i dearly need a mentor. however my life is too busy now to have more than sporadic patients, and the list has actually met my needs fairly well since i joined a few mos ago. thanks to you all!

Vera, what a great effort you are giving toward the continuation of classical homeopathy! As a student, this is a valuable service! Thank you for offering.
Joy’s unwavering support has been tremendous to me. The Skype tutorials she mentioned are absolutely fantastic. Yesterday’s tutorial on the Periodic Table was invaluable!
Joy . . . thanks for all that you do in educating us newbies!!!!! First, the study group and now the tutorials via Skype! Totally awesome place to learn!

What criteria should a potential student possess?
Must the person be a current student doing homeopathy?

I am a new homeopath and would love a mentor. Vera if you have not already filled up your "dance card" I would be grateful for your help and suggestions.
Blessings,
Christina

Hi folks,
I'm still getting used to how this works. Vera, I would love to be mentored if you have room for another newbie.
Laura, thanks for posting your testimonial on Joy's teaching. Could you send me a link to find her easily?
Thanks to you all.

Hi Sheri and others,
That's exactly the people I had in mind for me to mentor - those with background who were finishing studies and starting work under clinical supervision, and those in the first couple of years of practice who "sort of" know what they are doing but are very unsure of themselves. I think lack of confidence during that time is a positive attribute if it leads a person to study more and work more for better results. But it doesn't help with case management and working with patients...
I think the input of a lot of people to this list and others also counts as mentoring. Joy's work on this list and on her own has made a tremendous difference for a lot of people, and many others here add so much value (perhaps a little less of late - possibly daunted by the bickering...). I could list people but I don't think anyone would want me to, but I am amazed at those who take the trouble to write long invaluable e-mails explaining points in philosophy, Boeninghausen, different remedies, activism for homeopathy, and at those who spoof the whole thing from time to time to lighten the atmosphere.
What I'm suggesting is completely informal, not a mentoring program. The idea is that if you're tearing your hair out about a case you have some one to contact before baldness sets in. Sometimes the list helps with that but not all cases and issues are suitable for a public list. What helped me was an informal as-needed e-mail exchange, and that's what I'm suggesting here.
