Fosamax and broken bones

ABC did a piece yesterday on whether long-term use of drugs like Fosamax is resulting in severe bone breaks:

It's good to see this coming out in the mass media -- finally. I've been convinced for years that this class of drugs is contributing to lumbar stenosis in the elderly, but no one seems to be rushing to research this.

I don't think I responded to this....

I looked up Fosamax on Pubmed and there are reports of it being
associated with jaw necrosis:-(( There are 700 lawsuits regarding this
issue in U.S. law courts.

That was the initial sign of problems with the drug. Spontaneous fractures
of the femur are more recently reported.
