cough caused by allergy

My husband has been having this throat clearing cough for yrs. Too high level for a newbie to attempt casetaking

Yes, that type of symptom will be a very small part of a much bigger case!
Health challenges do take some knowledge, tho there's a great deal one can do oneself, that's very accessible and extremely useful. Going to a good homeopath is often *both* the easiest *and* the most effective way to bring things into line quickly, but it's definitely not a do-it-yourself project.
If homeopath is not an option or not a current interest for him, what about changes in diet? Sounds like reducing allergens might be an easy starting point--take two weeks to cut out wheat, milk and soy, and see if any change? (It's difficult at *first*; definitely do-able but only if one has some degree of motivation.)
